Have you feel better yet? I was sick the whole CNY week and still not recover yet (Indonesia's air is really dirty ne). Hope you get well soon. No worries with the fic, just drop it anytime and I'll be ready to catch err... read LOL.
I'd still rather they do adaptation from a book because they need to think of the setting plus add on the additional dialogues AND I won't be able to read the novel and compare it side by side. And with manga, I'd prefer they call it an adaptation rather than live-action because they change the premise/setting anyway most of the time, add on useless extra characters which taking up screentime and left with less time for our OTP, then mess up with the important phrases that I want to hear it being said live. The worst offender of this so far is... none other than FujiTV LOL.
I dunno what has changed in the j-dorama industry that it seems that the industry are looking to join the ride of mangas. I still remember what Satou Takeru mentioned in his interview that NOT ALL manga can be converted to a live-action, some manga are just best left as MANGA. If you want to do a live action, you need to read lots of forums, do your research to see what fans really wants, which I think Kenshin trilogy do it right. They still struggle, I agree, but at least they threw in as many as shits that fans love, hence the success. Same with HYD and Hanakimi series, it moves slightly from the manga, but all main scenes are in tact, they just mostly rephrase the dialogue but all points are there.
Then come the live action of SMUT manga (this totsuzen and Happy Mari as example, and MANY more in the past few years), there're TONS of intimacy and talks over the bed scenes plus those cute pillow talks, and they have to cut it because it's PG-13 timeslot, not a midnight drama. The moment these are gone or toned down, that's when the magic are GONE. The only one I remember flaunting the bed scenes is Shitsuren Chocolatier, but the problem with this drama is they focus on this kind of thing and neglect what the fans want and butcher the freaking ending, which had me 'WTF did I waste 10 hours watching for?'.
Like what you have said, they need to get a grip and produce something original and THOUGHT through, and if they dare to remake Goblin into J-dorama, I'll be rolling my ass off laughing.
