About Kat-tun fan service and their MC. I get that feeling when watching the con DVD because there's couple of things that I notice about them that make Kat-tun different from other Johnny's group say... Arashi and V6 (I watch these 2 the most) or even NEWS. As you know, each group is different as Johnny's tries to meet every fangirls' different range of taste in ikemen, music and performances. V6 barely do fan service only the younger ones will do hugging etc, the older ones at most is waving and V sign LOL, and this comes out as cute. Arashi and NEWS fan service is almost the same, put on member ai, bit of touchy feely and enduce kawaii. And there's where Kat-tun is different, especially Kame, his fan service comes off as sensual, bit ero to me (this probably just a mild G rated version of J-rock fan service haha). Not that it's bad, it's just not for me haha... so that's why I'd say that they're really directed for fans. As for MC, this is the part that I have difficulty of understanding because I don't really find the MC funny, so I thought maybe because I'm not their fans, not following their stuff so I don't understand why they're funny or even cute. If I use other groups as example, NEWS, their MC is... awkward cute, not even funny sometimes. V6 is the best to me because they have Inohara who controls everything. Arashi works as unity for MC, they just know when to jump in and back off, but then again, that's because I've been watching them. Hope this long explanation clarifies. It's kinda hard to exactly nail why, but I guess it's becoz of the main preference in the beginning, which is why Johnny's has so many groups haha...
Really? they do the holding hands thingy every time? That's not cliche, that's nice! That what makes a group special. But really, Chain con was a very good concert put together from the theme, performance (especially the performance, and Kame is a solid entertainer), staging, lighting, it's done with quality, and Johnny's quality is definitely above standard hahaha...
