I don't get why they had to go through all that "who gets to decide whether or not to pull the plug on the brain dead woman?" dilemma. Usually before a big operation with a high risk chance of death they give the patient a choice to sign a form consenting not have any extraordinary measures taken to save their lives. If she was as prepared & ready to die as all of the other materials she prepared prove her to be then she would have signed that form, so this episode made no sense to me except for Saejima. Saejima is the most practical thinker looking to improve Japan's medical problems logically.
