Still digging of old files... and stop at Johnny's Countdowns...
What's Johnny's Countdown to you? To me:
It's where you see recycled concert costumes that most likely you'd like to forget, but alas, it appears again, for example:

It gets better over the years, but you'll be reminded at times that such costumes exists...
It's where you get multiple fandoms collide and flood of fan services, and trolling...

It's where you get to see old songs revived in Johnny's melody, Johnny's hit melody, and whatever melody mashed up and everybody seemed to know everybody's songs & choreography

It's where you will always be reminded that there is a group called Shounentai and all your ichiban whatever know how to dance to their songs, especially Kamen Butoukai XD

It's where you get to see who's still underage according to Japanese labor law because they'll be sitting there, not on the stage...

and lastly, you get to see Johnny's boys that you less likely want to see because this is the best way for Johnny's to market the boys to a wider audience, make other fans recognize the presence of those that you don't really pay attention to otherwise...
So, which performance you'd hope to see on each year's Johnny's Countdown? To me, it'd be Andalucia ni Akogarete performance XD. Why? Coz herds of ikemen dancing to latin beat song acting cool & sexy with cool choreography (tons of turns and twirls) is pleasing to the eyes and most likely it'll have the least glittering costume over the whole show, yet still flashy... but mostly coz in my theory for this performance, they'd picked those who really can dance. Most likely all V6 will be there especially Sakamoto (love his poses in this performance the most). I only know 2 Countdowns have this performance, not sure 2007-2008 has it. And those who get to sing lines in that song felt the honor in doing so. And the lyrics, it has the passion XD, and somebody has translated it years ago too: http://honyakukonnyaku.livejournal.com/6919.html
So, my favorite will always be the 2003-2004 performance because... it has all J-Friends and Arashi (MOS only) and you get to see:

Pretty and sexy Sho, and he looked natural here XD...

Isn't this entrance kakkoii? And, Koichi looking pretty too (he's always pretty, but prettier here XD)

FEMALE dancers!

Inocchi looking sexy and you only get to see Taichi standing like that in here...

Synchronized dance! Mind the stage, it's 2003 after all...

The end... after multiple backflips... this is the period when everybody still can do backflip from the upper platform XD... yeah, people get old... that's why old performances are gems...
Now we compare it to it being performed almost a decade later... same people still performing (viva Johnny's!), but no more Arashi and Tokio, all were shipped to Kohaku... and we get a new set of boys instead...

Koichi got upgraded! He's the second singer now!

The stage! So much different compared to the old one right? It's called time changes :)...

Kat-tun is no longer backdancers now, and we get to see Masu now!

Glorious Sakamoto's pose! Look at the hip! Never mind that the dai senpai is there, focus on Sakamoto!

HSJ is no longer on the bench, and you'll see everybody twirl perfectly XD...
So, what do you think?
