Aiba Manabu ~ 相葉マナブ Epi 021
I want to do Epi 19 too but it'll take too much time, same reason as the mamachari episode. They throw in lots of superstitions in that episode. You'll recognize some of them if you've watched anime like XXXholic XD. Okay, enough about the previous episode, let's talk about Epi 21. Wait, what about Epi 20 then? Hmm... oh yeah, it's basically just to show that Japan does survey on literally everything by perfecture. Not that it's informative, but it's literally just information overflow. Whoever did the structure of that episode choose a really bad topic, no, it's a good topic but presentation is very bad, that's all. Epi 21? We're back with everybody's favorite, Epi 18 part 2! This time they try to squeeze in more, they have 7 techniques to make your live easier... I don't get the tendency to make the episode to be information overload, I'd think they should just stick with 4 or 5 and make the scenarios or experiment longer, or better still, MAKE AIBA-CHAN TALK LONGER! Seriously, it used to be 2 members for this kinds of segment but now they have 3? In a small room, 30 min length show, it's too many! You'll notice that Aiba-chan speaks lesser and lesser in the last 3 episodes and those comedians speaks louder and louder. I'm already worried over Aiba-chan getting quieter in VSA and Anishi and now this? For goodness sake, it's Aiba-chan's show, he needs to be in the center and speaks more, like what he does on the first few episodes. Seeing Aiba-chan talk less and only smile politely alarms me. At the very least, he LOL-ed quite a lot in this episode so it doesn't look so bad, but if you notice, he does talk lesser.

I think for this segment 3 members just enough, why they need 4 people? Too many, oh well... let's started!

Please teach us!
They recognize the family who's going to enact the scenarios haha... excitement building up!

So how to make this heavy box feel lighter? They have the usual sensei...

And they're pleased with the pretty assistant... don't worry Aiba-chan, you're prettier!

So, how Aiba-chan lifted the box and felt that it's lighter?

By adding empty box on the bottom of the heavy box... you want to try this at home? I'd rather pay movers than having my back break XD...

And they got the pretty science girl too to explain all the reasoning!

I'd think the diagram is self explanatory. Basically this is one of the method to spread the weight of the object to your whole body. Same principle can be applied when you're packing your backpack. Put heavy stuff like your bento, water bottle etc on top and you'll feel lighter.

Next one, when your bottle of cola fall down, how to make the soda not spurting out when you open the bottle?

Aiba-chan knows how! Turn the bottle 10 times to the right direction...

With confident... 'It won't spurt out!'... yeah right LOL!

FAIL face.. HISASHIBURI!!! I don't realize how much I miss this reaction until I see this...

Takeyama also failed and Aiba-chan stood as far as he could! Ah such pretty smile LOL

So the right method is to roll the bottle several times, then knock the bottle until the fizz died down and you can open it...

How about the taste then? Aiba-chan testing it...

Well?

Next, you have a room with yakiniku smell, how to eliminate the smell?

Experiment of using a wet towel... by Aiba-chan and Sawabe, basically the youngest do the work... heh..

Both started spinning the towel throughout the room... and... off course, the smell was gone.
After the cola experiment, you can see Aiba-chan started to perk up, you can see that obvious change... he's not like this before... really wonder...

So, why? Again, self explanation animation... so basically the moistures on the towel absorb the smell from the air...

Bonus cap... hate to waste it when Aiba-chan tension is high (well, compare to previous episode? Yeah, this is high)

Next! This is VERY USEFUL! How to fix your haywire toothbrush? I normally will throw it away as I deem this to be broken BUT NOT ANYMORE, apparently it can be fixed!
Aiba-chan playing with the 'broken toothbrush' is just <3

So first swirl the toothbrush with hot water, then do the same, swirl with cold water and...

JANG!!!! You get a fixed, look almost rand new tooth brush!!! And look at the excitement!

Seriously, minna! We gotta try this at home!

Next, I think this will most likely happen in Japan... how to cut that very short plastic tag which are tagged in between your new socks? Scissors? There's chance that it'll cut over your precious new socks as some times it can be that short.

So, in Japan you use two 5 yen coins and one 10 yen coin.
Again, Aiba-chan did the experiment with that seriousness... so cute...

Stack the 5-10-5 yen coins and...

The tag was cut! Aiba-chan looked satisfied! Simple!

So, again, animation to be very clear.

Why you cannot use 50 yen coin? 50 yen coin also has a hole. You can't because the edge on that hole is round so it won't cut.
I don't understand what's giza 10 means, but I'd assume it's because of the same reason too that it couldn't be used for this.

Last one, how to cut onion without crying? And without using the goggle... I used to use my lab glasses LOL... but if you cook often enough and you cut onion so often, you'll get used to it and not crying anymore...

So Aiba-chan cut the onion with the seriousness until he felt the crying urge..

So basically you wrap the onion in cling wrap, nuke it in the microwave for 20 secs...
me: sensei, i don't like the cling wrap attached to my food because I saw cling wrap melts on my food before so .... no, I won't use cling wrap over any food anymore...

But Aiba-chan tested and he didn't feel the sensation... taste? apparently it doesn't change...

More animation, with the nuke effect, the water that causing us to cry is 'cooked'.

The more preferred way, use candle to change the direction of those 'water'.

Better alternative, use fan... if you don't have candle...

A much better show compare to the previous episode...
But if you watch Tensai Shimura Doubutsuen 7th Sep episode, Aiba-chan looked so genki and hyper on his own segment. He talked A LOT and laughed A LOT as well... and he looked so relax there. Perhaps he's been in TSD for almost to (?) or more than (?) 10 years that it's like being at home, whereas in other shows... he can rely on Sho-chan & Matsujun to cover him on VS and Anishi and Manabu is quite new for him... I don't know... perhaps this will change, it's just a phase... we'll see... 頑張れ相葉ちゃん!
