I hate when lead actor types get pigeonholed too, on top of dramas themselves seeming so similar these days to begin with. Of course there are some great lead actor types who don't get pigeonholed--and some supporting character types that do!--but yeah.

I think a strong supporting cast is virtually always a necessity for a strong drama.
My favorite actors are virtually all the supporting actor types, though some of the older ones were once lead actor types, and a couple of them do both lead and supporting roles (I really like watching actors who do this).
