spsnIt's been... almost ONE year since the last time I did this kind of recaps LOL...
I have mixed feeling about this segment, it's funny, I mean GACKT with Arashi is always adorbs and entertaining, but particularly with the medicine ball segment, I can't help but worry. If you saw GACKT IG acount, you'll know the medicine ball exercise because he posted some clips on it and it's damn hard, even for those who have that rigorous training regime regularly. So imagine if you're not so-called trained with that kind of spartan training menu, and people drop that medicine ball on your tummy, especially Aiba-chan's part, I can't help but worry about the potential injurIES that may happen, ranging from muscle inflamation to slipped disk (you use your back, which you're not supposed to, instead of your core muscle, to hold that ball). And you can even see Matsujun, the so-called most fit in Arashi, struggled, so you can imagine the rest. Enough of the rant and back to the whole segment itself, basically there're 3 parts of it, first is the random (literally random) quetions thrown at GACKT, then it's that training segment, and lastly it's the crane game.
It's been 5 years since the last appearance in AniShi (yeah, he usually showed up in VSA, I like AniShi better, more content for guest, not just games). Aiba commented that GACKT didn't change at all, and this year GACKT is 43 y.o (strict exercise and diet results in hot bod and great looks, not to mention GACKT is pretty from the get go (w/ the additional 'enhancement' too)).
Those yummy muscle definition! So apparently GACKT's left chest is made out of silicon while the right side is from plastic :p.
First segment, is 30 things of what we want to hear from GACKT's life. They're a bit skeptical with the 30 bits and GACKT already commented that it probably won't fit, and we'll see that later.
First: Dogs or cats?
GACKT is a dog person and he has 4 dogs, all living outside Japan, which led to the next topic.
GACKT hasn't been living in Japan for the past 5 years. He has houses across Asia from PH, HK, MY and he's even considering TH lately.
*most likely, it's cheaper there and tax wise is more lax, ha!*
What kind of toothbrush GACKT use? Soft or hard?
GACKT use soft toothbrush, and Sho-chan thought he's the hard type. You can't judge book by the cover ne, Sho-chan.
What's the amount of average meal for GACKT?
GACKT can't eat alone. His meal cost is about 1,200,000JPY (about 12K USD) for 4-5 person and that includes WINE. Not the meal is expensive, it's the freaking WINES.
Nino commented, FOOD IS FOOD.
GACKT hate going dutch, but he's bad at janken. So, he plays 'finger leader' instead. Below is the demonstration.
For example, GACKT is the finger leader, the person who gets the same number as the leader is the one who lost, in this case, Aiba-chan.
Watabe quickly reminded everybody that this segment already used 5 minutes LOL and they still have... 27 questions to go?
So they started speeding things up.
Does GACKT eat salmon skin?
GACKT like spicy food, but he doesn't like salty & spicy. Everybody quickly concluded, nope.
The question is getting random LOL. Does GACKT also eat the white part of the orange? Yes.
Does GACKT eat things with parsley? No.
Matsujun: Who want to hear this?
If GACKT meet the cockroach in his house, what will he do?
GACKT: immediately call my staff.
In the meantime? He runs away, wait till the staff come.
Out of that many 'kudaranai' questions, they choose this one as the last one: How many rooms in GACKT's house?
So, apparently his house in PH is the biggest one, with about 10 rooms, for guest rooms.
Sho-chan: if there's a cockroach, it'll be problematic for the staffs.

Next segment: GACKT dojo. Basically they have 3 level, if Arashi clears the level, then they move on tot he next stage.
GACKT normal level is equivalent Level 80... for the illustration... no, actually it is the case haaaa...
Level 1: Medicine ball
If you notice, GACKT lied down in straight position, you'll see later Arashi bent their legs for easier level, and Ohno even cheated!!
Nino never fail to comment at that expensive and HUGE belt.
So basically drop the freaking ball and do it for another 120 times... who wants to try?
Those faces, you cannot not laugh, really, even Jun was worried, let alone Aiba-chan.
So, using the concept finger leader, instead of janken, Aiba-chan got first to choose and confidently he chose the SMALLEST one, and...
The caps is self explanatory!!! poor Aiba-chan. 9kg!! OMG!
Yep.
When it's his turn, you can see that he's dreading it and I don't think he's joking. He even commented that he can't even laugh while watching the rest doing it.
This poor pup...
Nino added the salt: if something happens, he'll take care of the Kouhaku hosting.

I don't know whether I should be laughing or not. But his last comment: I think something came out just now... *euuww*.
And he repeated it, 'I think it came out'... geez... Aiba-chan... haha...
Next, it's the similar one as previously shown, with the new type of roller.
Expectation is always so bloody damn cool.
GACKT: If it's Arashi, they can do it
Arashi: .... .... ...
Nino: I'm probably not Arashi.

GACKT lessen the level, as long they can do it 1 time, it's OK.
We have the stoic Matsujun doing it properly and he's shaking aka struggling. Ohno surprisingly was able to do it.
Nino on the other hand, well... yeah... and GACKT just passed him up because he's CUTE.
Level 3: Kensui (chin up/pull up) --> this is one of those that if you don't do properly, you'll have lots of muscle injury, and I think after this segment, Arashi went straight to their massage therapist.
Nino thought that kensui was level 1... Nino, you're saying?
As usual, you got the over the top expectation.
Starting with Matsujun, the way he sighed is actually LOL, and he commented that that morning he did this is MJ shooting.
He couldn't go all the way up and he's shaking so much.
And miraculously Sho-chan did all the way to the top with so much shaking.
But he don't know how to get down LOL.
Off course GACKT would choose Nino. And Nino being Nino...
He couldn't even lift himself up, at all LOL.
Yet he acted as if he did it so many times LOL. It's ZERO for Nino.
Last segment, it's the UFO catcher battle.
I want those Gakucchi stuffed toys.
Unfortunately the battle was cut short with Ohno's luck, HA

They need to tell us new stories, basically LOL.

I've heard about this ep. And there are a few camps on how most fans see this, so I'm not even going to go there (about the medicine ball thing that is). But I had to giggle at the part about Sho having the ability to do the pull up/ chin up but not being able to come down ... For that alone he should have scored for all of Arashi! Ahahaha!
I hope that there are no lasting damaging effects from doing these things especially since Aiba has already been hospitalised twice for being sick ok.
Lastly ... GACkT! He is so damn pretty. He's like a fine wine ... looks good all the time! ^_~

yes, the news aiba-chan hosting kouhaku is a nice surprise, glad that he's being recognized n seems that nhk loves him, like ntv loves sho-chan ;), more motivation foR me to watch kouhaku this year.
ah, so i'm not the only wary about this particular segment, sonebody from staff team must be under fire after this episode, whoever think that medicine ball part is funny n a great idea need to do self check n try to do it themselves before they make arashi do it, n maybe theY will think twice. but ohno cheated n the members found out is gold tbh. n nino got away unscatched.... well considering his pre-existing injuries... he's not supposed to do all those exercise...
sho-chan was trying his best during that chin up exercise n i think he really confused on how to get down which is... lol
and yes, GACKT always look fab on tv! he's the epitome of kakkoii besides kimutaku (even kimutaku aged so much hiks), n i just hope he wont go back sporting the mushroom hair coz thats just plain... NOPE. lol
xmas? not going anywhere though i almost bought ticket to see lee junki's fanmeet in jpn on xmas eve, almost n now i'm regretting big time for not going ahead W my impulse buying hiks...
