Last Hope at First Episode
Jan. 16th, 2013 11:06 pmI'm just one of the impatient girl, watching medical drama without english sub. So, I may not understand all those medical related terms going on except the words 'operate' and 'cancer' (yeah, I've watched lots medical drama too LOL). But, allow me to say 1 thing, Last Hope shows that Aiba-chan can act, he just need a better written drama and this is one of them. I didn't see any majorly forced expression that made me cringe, so I'm happy with this and hope he's doing better and better in latter episode. He does need to take lesson from Nino to express more angst but he definitely has no problem in looking as a kakkoii doctor though.
Off course, being cash cow machine, Arashi has to do the OST song, 'Calling,' and I can't wait to see the performance because it's a cool song!
Proper review will be done after the whole series get subbed, until then... I'm here for the pretties... and Aiba-chan not joking with the 'medical suspend entertainment' thingy LOL...
Well, Hello, Hatano Sensei!

Capping because I like how bright his eyes are when explaining things to patient :).
DoS Hatano Sensei's expression after he made the nurse running around looking for 'nezumi'.

Hatano Sensei angsty look yet so pretty, so this is his expression every time he stares at the head of medical center (dunno his name is). Aiba-chan, I'm OK with this, but I think you can do better and improve, please take a lesson from Nino ne :D.

Capping this because it's so cute and funny, and look at Tachibana Sensei's eye rolling expression :D.
His expression when saying 'Rasto Hoppu'.Aiba-chan + Engrish = never gets old, whether it's in drama or variety.
This is why 'young' becomes 'yangu' (watch Nep League and you'll understand).

Another angsty from the OP, and can't wait for the single to come out.
No shower scene because Aiba-chan is no Matsujun, but they have to do this scar showing scene, so...

This will be a recurring item in Last Hope. Hatano Sensei needs sweets to think, apparently. The first one is Fruits Granolla Cookies (didn't get the screencap). Second one is Strawberry Chocolate Rolls.
Hatano Sensei, why you look so cute?

First cap, I can see his confidence as doctor in this explaining scene. Second cap, just coz he's pretty.

I love this scene here where the patient's fiancee is confiding her love story to Hatano Sensei, how they met and what they want to do next year etc, and Hatano Sensei is just listening to her attentively. Second cap is bonus because I just have a thing with Aiba-chan side profile LOL...
find that Aiba-chan is good in conveying message on hope, which I think he's the right person for Hatano Sensei role. I can hear hope in his voice and with that sympathetic face (
Hatano Sensei is operating too!
Medical suspense entertainment!

When such a cute doctor deliver the news to you (off course it's a good news, look at the smile, it's sparkling --> Johnny's style), won't you be happy?

OK Aiba-chan, really, you're pretty, but please learn more from Nino on doing the 'shaking w/ emotion' act. Overall, well done Aiba-chan, and I look forward for the next episode (and the sub for this episode as well)!
And I wish I have Hatano sensei attending to my VERY VERY bad ankle sprain now...

Date: 2013-01-16 03:49 pm (UTC)I think with Aiba, he probably needs a good director/script. He's not a natural actor and needs good direction. But this must be a good role for him - he's so kind in real life that I think he can understand people as a doctor.

Date: 2013-01-16 10:27 pm (UTC)It's in his voice. His voice is calming, so you kind of see hope in it. (but again, maybe it's just me LOL)...

Ha, ha! Your comments are cute; thanks for all the caps.
(Hope your sprained ankle gets better soon, too.)

Date: 2013-03-12 03:52 pm (UTC)The many faces of Hatano sensei - I'm glad that they gave Aiba a better role than some of his weaker plotted dramas. Not that I mind ... you know pretty idols standing around looking good. But having a good plot and interesting character helps the interest keep going.

Date: 2013-03-12 04:21 pm (UTC)The first 2 episodes were delish with those pretty faces LOL... he's seriously a pretty doctor hahaha...
and the combi of Hatano & Tachibana works well too! I like her character in here (after being impressed with her acting in Ooku Tanjou)...
Yes, thanks to FujiTV for giving him chance considering his track records... all those not so strong in storyline drama *hint to Bartender & Mikeneko and particularly Mikeneko* haha... but I'd think there are other factors for Aiba-chan being casted here... somehow it's comforting to listen to him advising patients, it's not comanding and if I were the patient, I think I'd trust him... >o<V

Date: 2013-03-12 04:41 pm (UTC)I know product placement is a big thing with dramas, because they do get the money from the sponsorship ... but it just make the less than believable storyline ... even less believable!
Plus I didn't like how his character was bullied by everybody. Even the people he was trying to help they bullied him and took advantage of him. Even though they say this was how the story went I just wasn't keen on the idea.
Although credit to Aiba ... he did his very best with both those roles.
I hope he gets given much better roles after this because he is learning a lot from the cast and he is doing such a wonderful job!
Although if I was his patient ... I'd probably never want to leave the hospital ... I might even end up stalking him .... mwahahahahah!

Date: 2013-03-13 12:28 am (UTC)what???? those ugly tweeded jacket is burberry? lollll n head to toe too? i di notice yoshitaro housewear is super nice for a police famuly n now that u mention it.... producer... what were u thinking... omg...
what i hate the most fr mikeneko was aiba-chan make up, the make up artist did a very bad job on that pretty face, all the close up shots... i can count his pores!!!! fujitv did a way far better job on this
set that aside, mikeneko was just recipe for disaster coz we have a lazy drama team just relying on arashi stardom for rating n i was quite sad that ppl bash on aibachan acting in there where he's actually done the best of what provided to him... its the freaking drama team!!! not aibaby lollll
