spsnThis is to commemorate Tackey's new drama after so many years. Yes, it's be that many years since his last drama (Orthros no Inu in 2009). He did 1 SP drama late of last year, but SP doesn't really count if you haven't done any drama in years. Well, he's too busy with management and his butai, I guess, but me still want Tackey drama, and at least he gives what I want to watch. Light drama with food XD. Am not going to elaborate too much on explanations which explains why so little pretties because Epi 1 story is actually... just another bullying story that I feel a bit tired of it by now because all the school drama touch this topic. Perhaps it's the TV response to so many bullying cases surfacing in Japan lately. Can't help it, but at least this drama shows a lighter version of bullying case and in here at least the bullied fight back and the case close in 1 episode.
There's a little bakery deep down in the Tokyo's alleys called Boulangerie Kurebayashi. Oddly, this bakery only open from 11pm to 5am. The reason? It remains a mystery.
The star bread in this episode is Melon pan. I'm still not sure whether the first bread shown in the beginning of the drama is the star bread pattern.
But I love how they shoot the bread slowly blooming inside the oven, and it's a pretty batch of melon pan!
We have a lovely bakery here! Simple but pretty interior filled with pretty and delicious looking bread!
Moreover, the owner will be happily recommend you breads to your mood! What a service!
And this is the owner, the pretty baker! Ah, only in drama we'll have pretty baker, pretty doctor, hunky detectives, ridiculously handsome scientist, pretty hairdresser... did I miss anything? Oh yes, kakkoii sensei and kakkoii phycho home tutor! At least for this season XD...
A glimpse of the pretty baker's private life, his wife passed away 6 months ago due to accident (what really happened has not been revealed yet).
A disruption to their routine is a high school girl named Nozomi. Apparently she is pretty baker's wife's sister. To proof that she's the sister, she shown the letter that Misako, the wife, sent to her on the day of her accident. In the letter, it seems that Misako is inviting Nozomi to stay in their place, so, that's how the 2 companies become 3 companies.
OK, this 2 scenes can be easily mistaken LOL Don't they look like a couple? I find this combi is rather cute.
Ehm... so, who's the owner again? Kurebayashi introduced Hiroki as his apprentice, while actually Hiroki's the one baking all those breads and Kurebayashi is having hard time doing the most basic activity in bread making??? I want to know the background story of this!!!
So round! From all the hard work of bread making, I love doing this rounding activity the most. It gives you satisfaction when the bread rounded perfectly like what it looks like in the cap. The surface is so smooth and the round looks fluffy XD. It needs practice too, which is what Kurebayashi obviously needs LOL.
So nicely baked melon pan! See, this is the star bread in this episode! And Nozomi said it's just a normal melon pan. I feel you Hiroki! XD
Cap this because I want both of these gadgets! The first one is the rolling tray. It's for French breads. You place them in the oven like that and you slide back the tray and only the bread left in the oven. Me: I WANT!!!!
The second cap is my dream oven! You notice they have about 3 stack there (probably 4 at the bottom, but it's cut out from the frame)? 1 stack is about 4500SGD (this is the price 4 years ago, I bet inflation will increase the price to 5K SGD by now. So what we see there is estimated 12K SGD worth of oven! That's the best oven you can have! Why? because you can play the temperature from top and bottom, steam, control the heat, etc all in one! Your normal home oven won't be able to do all that perfectly, not even the fancy 5K oven for home oven.
And yeah, I care more about the breads than the actual story XD..
I like this scene when both bakers came to the school because Nozomi fought with the girl who bullied her. Nozomi even apologized where she shouldn't even be doing that.
Kurebayashi did what any gullible baker will do in any situation, offering his breads to everybody in the room, which is flatly rejected by the bitchy girl.
What I like here is the way Kurebayashi stares at the girl, gentle but right on the spot because he's asking her, what she's actually angry at? what makes her so upset. To which the girl couldn't even answer... embarrassed because she's just being bitchy and her cover will be discovered?
Love this shot because it's sweet.
The oh so misleading cap LOL. They're claiming they're not like THAT. Who'll believe it?
Put that aside, we'd want to know what's the actual relationship between Kurebayashi and Hiroki...

So now the mealtime is a 3 companies activity, not 2 companies anymore. It seems that Hiroki cooked more side dishes than usual? LOL
As they're eating while working, they have to eat fast, that's why meal is done while standing up.
Baguette making! Do you know that it takes skill to slice baguette prettily? You cannot slice it with force, it has to be done with the right amount of pressure so that it cut deep enough to let the air out during baking time, BUT not too deep because it'll look ugly and they'll fail you during exam if your baguette's cuts are too big!
And the choko korone! So pretty!
This kitchen is actually quite big for 2 person to work in. Bakers in Singapore will be so happy to work in this kind of kitchen because it's roomy, not cramped with all the ingredients bucket and it looks so clean!

oh speaking about the strange opening hour of the bakery, in my home country there is a restaurant which only opens from 2am until morning..it is weird but the restaurant is famous because of it :P
