Aiba Manabu ~ 相葉マナブ Epi 009
I'm skipping Epi 7 and 8 because these 2 are too wordy and I'm just too lazy to use my dictionary XD, and anyway there's a team subbing Manabu, right? I saw it somewhere but didn't bookmark it. This episode is also equally wordy but I find lots of cute Aiba-chan moments here *love love* and who doesn't love MONEY? The system should somewhat the same like what we have in our own countries, just that here is explained in a more layman terms, easier to understand :)

Change of environment! Aiba-chan meets the member... are? Why only Aiba-chan without megane (glasses)? hehe... so he quickly puts on his and being cute at it...

First, they went to the coin shop and look at the beautiful coins. These are the 1000 Yen silver coin to commemorate 60 year establishment of self autonomy districts. So far they have 47 such as Hokkaido, Aomori, Okinawa etc.

Standard Aiba-chan's question: What about Chiba?
A: Zannen! Chiba, Tokyo and Osaka are only going to have this coin in 2016.
His disappointed face...

Bonus cap: how can I delete this?

So this is the 'money' that they used long time age eg. Edo period 300 years ago...

The awkward moment when sensei not answering students' questions...

Change location, what about going to Bank of Japan?

So they're in Bank of Japan. Very Victorian-ish building ne...

So this is the front end of Bank of Japan and Aiba-chan thought that he's so special that not everybody can go inside Bank of Japan.
He's wrong off course, you can visit bank of Japan by appointment. You just have to make a call 3 months to 1 week in advance and they'll entertain you.
Me: heeee... it's much more tedious than making appointment to visit imperial palace.

So, the next lesson is that apparently BOJ has 'agency' across Japan...

Which is where? Again, standard Aiba-chan question: Chiba?

The embarrassing pose XD kawaii!!! Another attempt to confirm that Chiba is not one of them and not the only one which doesn't have.

What about Saitama? Nope, How about Kanagawa? Yes. And the other's reaction... LOL...

So now they go into the money storage place... there's a huge stock of money there... $$$$$$

Quiz time! How much of 10K Yen is that stack?

500M Yen? Booo, it's 40B Yen, yikes...

So, that big stack is 100B Yen, wow... assuming 100 Yen is 1USD... that's 1B USD LOL

Quiz 2: How much 10K Yen can fit into this box?

When Aiba-chan gets it right coincidentally hehehe... it fits 200M Yen

So, that 1 stack of 10K Yen, how heavy it is? And that 1 stack is 100M Yen

10K yen weighs 1g, so it's total of 10kg. Cap #1, that camera angle lengthen Aiba'chan posture... me like XD

They freak out a bit when suddenly it's different sensei. We do have lots of sensei in this episode ne...

So to prevent money counterfeit, the government put in place things such as: watermark, hologram...

What else Aiba-chan? hehehe....

Bar patterns everywhere...

Cuteness overload when Aiba-chan observing the 10K Yen note and try to 'take' it haha...

Different Yen notes have different corner patterns... so many different items... just to prevent counterfeit...

The seal is different... they cut the sakura corner...

The cost to make money is aout 15-20yen? Not sure... and not going to make an effort to...
What about the paper, does it use special paper? Yes.

Here, they're learning that it takes special skill to draw the money... wow...

The question is how much does money needed to circle the globe?
Another standard Aiba-chan question: How many Tokyo Dome? Basically big volume etc has to be associated with Tokyo Dome then Aiba-chan can understand XD.

Lastly they're learning about how BOJ works in transactions between Bank A and Bank B. Off course Aiba-chan is BOJ and here, again, he tries to pocket the money LOL

And get scolded by Bank B hehehe...

So the diagram makes it easier to understand, instead of money movement between bank A & B, BOJ just transfer the difference of that movement between Bank A & B. And we spend about 6 minutes of air time just looking at cute Aiba-chan... lovely show!

So what happens to the old money? VTR Douzo!

Old money get recycled! Sasuga Japan! It becomes Tatami, toilet paper, roof, paper... country of a very efficient recycle system.
Basically lifespan of 10K yen is about 5 years whereas smaller notes like 5K yen is about 1 to 2 years...

Bonus cap: kawaiiiii...
Aiba-chan skin is a bit darker here... Did he go to any location shooting? 24Hour related? I don't think it's tanning salon because if it is, he'll look charred XD....
