This episode is rather interesting and not so difficult to watch... It's part and parcel of wonder if you're not living in Japan, but I sometimes wonder how different Osaka people to Tokyo people. Well besides the Osakaben, what else is different? So, this episode is rather random showing you what can cause confusion when Tokyo people working at a kombini in Osaka huehehe... Lots of laughter and cuteness from Aiba-chan and this may be one of the few last episode of Aiba-chan with those adorable long bangs... looking forward for his short black hair (he looks fresher in it and another case where Aiba-chan rocks any kind of hairstyle)

So, apparently which side you should stay on escalator is different across prefecture, we haven't even touched different country! hahaha Tokyo use left side and Osaka use right side...


Even oden is different, though I didn't see any difference in Seven Eleven oden... could it be it's the home cooked oden?


So today's theme is to learn Japanese culture Manabu version...
Hello Watabe, welcome back and oh! a new guy, Tarou XD and I still hate Takeyama :p


Let's janken! and the result is messy because...


So when doing janken, Tokyo people are saying Jankenpoi, Fukuoka people is saying Jankenhoi and Osaka people is saying Injanhoi... everybody insist that they're right hehehe...


Aiba-chan, the sliding door is MANUAL hehehehe...


So, they're gonna do role playing as kombini staff and Takeyama commented that he looks like the kombini manager... okkayyy...


First introduction to the theme, sensei is asking which one is negi (spring onion) packet according to them...
Aiba-chan (Chiba) & Watabe (Tokyo) choose the white colored packet
Takeyama (Fukuoka) & Tarou (Osaka) choose the green packet
See? There's a pattern already hehe...


Appreciation of pretty Aiba-chan... *trying to take as many cap as possible because I like this hairstyle haha*


First customer, clearly an Osaka uncle, asking for egg sandwich... Aiba-chan being the closest to the shelf will be the one always taking the stuff for the customers... and will be definitely the wrong one too hahaha... love his confused & panicky expression while maintain the smiley face for the customer XD


To Osaka people, Egg sandwich is not the egg mayo sandwich that Tokyo people usually have. They use tamagoyaki instead. Omoshiroii!


Then what do Osaka people say about the egg mayo sandwich? They'll probably think that it's monja (from monjayaki) XD


Aiba-chan LOL here, I think he's the happiest from the group and this episode seemed to intrigue him


Aiba-chan already shocked by the first session because he has never seen that kind of egg sandwich before


Side eyeing and smirking on the side of the next customer... you can tell already that the auntie is from Osaka hehehe


Auntie wants to eat Tanuki and this is Tanuki according to Aiba-chan


And off course Aiba-chan is wrong LOL


Lots of commotion because this is the right Tanuki according to Osaka people...
The rest: isn't this Kitsune soba?
Tarou: no, this is Tanuki


Aiba-chan wants to quit already hehehehe...


So to Osaka people, Kitsune is the udon version of their Tanuki, in which to Tokyo people, everything is kitsune
Then, what is the Kantou (Tokyo area) version of Tanuki to Kansai (Osaka) people?


Another extra cap of the pretty long hair...


Japanese version of imi mini mini mo... quiate a long one too... 'dorenishiyoukana ten no kamisama no iutouri'... plus... to Kansai people 'Aburamushi'

So apparently there're lots of ways to add on to that imi mini mini mo...
Aiba-chan used to say #2 .... banbanban
Watabe used to say #3, nanonanona
Takeyama remembered that he used to say #4 abebenobe based on the runner Abebe-san


What a pretty smile, ne?


The same uncle came again and he said 'Yo, hisashiburi!'
Aiba-chan: *awkward laugh & smile* hehehe
Uncle asked for Ikayaki and Aiba-chan gives him...


Jang!!! Off course he's wrong. Uncle: WHAT'S THIS?
hehehe


So, this is the correct ikayaki according to Osaka people


Aiba-chan's face anticipating scolding from uncle... to which the uncle couldn't come up with the good scolding and fail at it and Takeyama was like what's this, get out! and everybody: LOL!!!


So what's the diff between Okonomiyaki and Ikayaki? Well, it's squid and it's half circle XD
Not to forget to cap Aiba-chan eating hehehe


Off course it's delicious Aiba-chan XD


So, what's this Tokyo version of Ikayaki called in Osaka? Ika no sugatayaki? Even Tarou is not so sure hehe...


Again, some prettiness appreciation XD


So, what do you call this?


Kansai vs Kantou --> Butaman vs nikuman
To Kansai people niku (meat) is associated with beef, so since the dish is made out of pork, so they specifically said butaman.
Whereas to Kantou people niku is associated with pork...


This is the interesting part, the background of such association is based on the amount of meat consumption by the region. The blue ones are porky and the red ones are beef.


So the auntie visits our shop again asking for the plastic tank. Aiba-chan gave her the red colored tank and off course auntie said it's wrong XD


Auntie was happy when Tarou gave her the blue colored tank


The mapping above shows the color coded tank according to region.
Red means red
Blue means blue
Purple means 'we don't care, anything goes'


So, Kantou people associated red with 'danger', while Kansai people choose blue because making the blue colored tank is CHEAPER XD


Tarou: It's because we're stingy!
The rest: LOL!!!


What about toilet paper? Kansai people prefer single ply while Kantou people prefer double ply.
To Aiba-chan, if we choose single ply then we have to keep on rolling to make a thick stack, which is the same as using double.


Watabe is very funny here, he's very concerned with the single ply, and upon touching he exclaimed that it's not comfortable LOL.
And when tarou touched the doubly ply, he commented that this is for nobleman use LOL!
Aiba-chan: LOL!!!
In Kansai region, single ply is more popular and the opposite happens in Kantou region.
The reason according to sensei, Kantou people likes the comfort, Kansai people like to see long tissue (in deed, single ply is longer) hehe...


And Watabe pointed out that if we're talking about our butt, then it has to be double ply. LOL!!!
Tarou seems confused though hehe


Aiba-chan: there's lots of things we don't know ne...
Me: soudayo ne...


Uncle is back and now he's entering the shop while humming 'you're my soul soul...' BGM: A.RA.SHI hehehe...


Uncle asks where is Mootaapuuru (motor pool) and Aiba-chan looks at the uncle with '???' on his face.
Aiba-chan & Takeyama thought it's gas station, and off course they're wrong


After Tarou gave the correct direction because he knows what is the motor pool, uncle commented that speaking to him is different.
Tarou: it's because these *pointing to the rest* are people who cannot sell the most (I maybe wrong here)
The rest: LOL!!!


So this is motor pool, it's the parking garage but with the rotation so it's like a building with a ferris wheel for cars inside.

For Kyoto people, they call this garage...


Aiba-chan looks like a dork here... but off course cute XD
