Generation Tengoku 2014.02.03 ~ Sweets SP
Feb. 9th, 2014 11:28 pmI love this show! It's funny (partly because of Imada-san and the Kiwi & Banana sedai guests) and it's informative & definitely entertaining. Plus point, Yamapi is getting better at hosting. He's still nowhere, decades away from Imada-san level off course, but compare to the first few episodes? Definitely way better XD. And particularly about this episode, it's my fave subject, sweets! Deserts! And we all know that Japan is a desert heaven hehe...

You can easily mistaken if the huge caption there is not about eating... XD

Yamapi: I'm going to eat you tonight <3 (complete with the glitters LOL)
Fangirls: KYAAAA
LOL at Imada there, he always manage to crush the fangirls' image LOL

Testosterone is all in the air... but it's about EATING SWEETS! OOOO!!!

I like Matobe Koji being in this show (yeah, this show makes me search for his name, he's everywhere in the drama but not to make you recognize his real name though haha). His comments are always hilarious despite his face and with passion (look back at the tokusatsu episode where it's basically about him and Imada reminiscing their childhood LOL). In here, he's suggesting to EXILE's *dunno his name but he's funny too* that a fighting man definitely needs his sweets LOL!!! with that kinds of serious tone LOL...
So, let's starts with the latest desserts trend (mango sedai's desserts)!

On #10, it's FRENCH TOAST!
We have cafe de la ville at Shibuya with the french toast that I doubt I'll see at the same thing in Paris.

The first feature is a bagel french toast from Nanjamonja Cafe at Yokoyama. If bagel's calories is not high enough for you, you can have it soaked with eggs mixture, pan fried, showered with honey and top with ice cream... yummm... and ohh my arteries...

Not feeling it yet? Let's move on to Adito at Setagaya. This one is CASTELLA soaked with eggs mixture, covered with bread crumbs (like tonkatsu) and deep fried, yey!!! I can feel my arteries are closing up LOL...

Do you want to eat this? YES!

At #9, It's Sweets Marathon, burn your calories while gaining more along the way! That's the trendy thing now.
It's a 10 km run and the next event is at 9th March, anybody interested?

Look at the spread! Unbelievable!

They even have the traditional sweets and baumkuchen!

Goodness! Make sure you don't get appendicitis for eating while running, though!

The next in thing in Tokyo, at #8, Macaroon? Not anymore, it's dorayaki posing as macaroon!

The traditional sweets are having upgrades! You can feel that the era is changing ne!

For example, this shop, Monblanc, is selling chesnut chocolate youkan. Basically they combine the red bean paste and chocolate. I want to try this!

Now we should try eating our daifuku with EVOO!

No resistance, instead we have raving reviews!

Hello Junpei-kun! He's here because of Shitsuren Chocolatier, isn't this too much of coincidence? haahaha... but anyway, it's rare to see him on variety show XD

Junpei-kun thinks that the EVOO gives the 'fruity' feels on the daifuku... he's really into his role ne hehehe...
And now we're hoping into time machine to see what sweets does banana sedai (our grandpa/parents) were having...

We have strawberry shortcake, at that time, using fresh cream was refreshing as before that there's only butter cream cake.
Next is Mon Blanc.

Then we have cheese cake and the rare cheese cake.

And then the baumkuchen.

Memorable moment from our banana sedai XD

Again, can't remember his name, but he's guested at Shiyagare with the hilarious samurai skit XD.
Basically as he had samurai roles, when you're in pain, you'd want to have sweet stuffs.

So, during shooting, they'd stop for 'sweets time', that's after our guest killed 30-40 people XD. (please correct me if i'm wrong).

For Kuwata Keisuke, his birthday is on the day whereby sweets shops are closed and that time there're no kombini yet. Hence he'd never had cake during his birthday (according to wiki, his b'day is in Feb, so I dunno... weird)

So, when's the first time he ate his birthday cake? It's during concert with people who he didn't know and that time he cried buckets. Ah, that's memorable...
Moving back to our mango sedai Top 10...

If French Toast is not enough to block your arteries, let's have croissant donuts. It's popularized in NYC where people queue like snakes for this freaking fattening stuffs, no doubt it's good... but look at the frying the croissant.... I feel my arteries got clogged.

And Japan just up the level of Cronuts. They just divide it by half (2 piece of deep fry stuff), add filling, top w/ chocolate, and the calories just up by another 500Cal. LOL!

The queue is equally long at the Shibuya store and they can easily sold out...

Do you want to eat this??? Look at the eyes LOL...

At #6, Juneebaren (it's from German, but I couldn't find the real spelling at Google, so we'll leave it at Juneebaren).
It's from German but the Korean (this time, not the Japanese) upgrade it with 11 flavors.

How to eat the damn thing? Break it with hammer. It's a perfect stress relief for housewives too XD

The freaking hammer is expensive! And whose hand is that?

Why off course! XD and Yamapi break it NOT EVENLY. haha

Ouww, Yamapi has the milk mustache there... off course... kawaiiiii...

Imada... not wanting to lose LOL!!! Ojisan-tachi, please don't follow Imada-san's example, it's kimochiwarui LOL...

Junpei-kun love this too saying it has a good balance :)
We have Banana sedai's list and not we have the Kiwi sedai's:

We have mille feuille, Tiramisu

Marugoto banana (it's the start of kombini sweets). It has the whole banana inside it. Think I have this before... YUMMY!

Matobe taught the studio hot to cut mille feuille nicely... by topple it first then start cutting, then the custard won't splatter out haha...

And Matobe reminds again that you need to topple it first before you cut LOL!

According to Yamapi Marugoto banana is fattening because it has banana, fresh cream.... errr... so the bagel french toast and castella french toast are not fattening? *gasp*

And Junpei-kun had marugoto banana for his birthday cake when he's a kid hehe...

Takeuchi Riki's first encounter of crepes is just <3. It's during his first time in Tokyo, at Harajuku, he smelt something good and the good stuff coming from the PINK shop LOL! So, it's a hard decision on whether to defeat the fear of embarrassment or trying the 'rumored crepes'

So in 2014 we just switch everything with croissant skin LOL... we have croissant taiyaki! fat level has an instant upgrade!

In contrast to the rest, #4 is very healthy! Coming from Hawai, it's Acai bowl. It's basically Acai fruit smoothies top by banana, granola, and berries.

It looks really good up close... yummm...

Junpei-kun is eyeing for this one!

Yamapi: 2nd half eating time!
The rest: OOOO!!!

LOL... basically he gulped the smoothies without realizing that it's cold hehehe...

Junpei-kun is savoring every bite hahaha...

Off course, we have to have Yamapi eating too LOL...

How cute can you be???

<3
In this episode, lots of comments are relating the desserts that it can attract people during the olympic... and I bet 7 years later, there will be totally different sweets in Tokyo...
Back to Kiwi sedai's dessert list, we have:

Mille Crepe, which is super yummy!!!

The fuwa fuwa... yummm

We have belgian waffle next. They even use castella mix to make the waffle.

So Manneken craze started from Kiwi era ne... I want to eat this again... this waffle is really fuwa fuwa... yummmm....

#1 of Kiwi list is Pastel Nameru purin... it's the fuwa fuwa type purin. I actually like the classic purin better than this one though...

This guy practically store Pastel in his fridge because no way he'll only eat just 1. Once start, he cannot stop with just 1 LOL
Matoba: Pastel is purin's revolution... hahaha

See? He's really passionate talking about his desserts. With Mille crepe, he like to use the fork to take the crepe layer 1 by 1 and eat them XD

And Imada likes the feel when you cut the mile crepe LOL, Imada-san I totally get what you mean hahaha... it's special!

Coming at #3, it's pancake!
Cafe Kaila from Omotesandou is featured, look at the queue, it doesn't end there!!! The queue continue outside like snakes... scary!

we have L.Loves.R at Shibuya. We have Dutch Baby, which is basically an onsen of BUTTER is melted and added on pancake mix and thrown to oven, once cooked, dusted by icing sugar...

Next is the Melon pancake, which literally have melon inside it... looks yummy!!!!

Now we have Moke's Bed&Breakfast at Nakameguro. The popular menu is...

Lilikoi (something like passion fruits) pancake... it looks so fuwa fuwa...

Do you want to eat? PLEASE!

Japan is sure late... Max Brenner is finally in town, but does the menu the same as the origin country?
The queue to Max Brenner is 3.5 hours... goodness...

Hmmm... not really the same LOL... see... WHY??? WHY Japan has to be different?
The Aussie take out the crepe Suzette menu and leave only the banana crepe :(

We have chocolate chunk pizza! The Cao!

And ... Chocolate syringe, not that I'll get this, but the fact that such thing exists...

This is how you use it...

Give me Chocolate!! LOL

Off course #1 is chocolate... Valentine's day is just days away...
But instead the rabu rabu choco, now tomo choco and obligatory choco is more important!

For your bff :)

For your #1 bff!

And guys are also buying chocolates now... for themselves...

And off course, the market are quick to catch up on the demand!

Ad even have the Jurassic chocolate!

While mango sedai guys don't have the qualms in buying chocolate, the kiwis still have the reservation, while the bananas don't even know such thing exists hahaha...

Yamapi is already holding the syringe before the CM haha...

Yamapi felt that it's too sweet, but off course, it's milk chocolate yo! If they have the option for dark chocolate, it'll be yummy!

Drama promotion time! It's a must watch drama for Winter 2014! Beautiful drama with beautiful people, beautiful chocolates!

LOL!!!

Banana & Kiwi are raving about the pancakes...

When the show's ending: We've eaten a lot ne... Look at the announcer lady, she's LOL-ing...

Banana: We thought sweets from our own era is good, but now... it's as if my era has ended...
time passed and the trend changes/evolves...

Yamapi commented that the unexpected are Takeuchi & Matoba combi, having scary face but surprisingly yasashii...

Ending note: Today is fun ne... LOL!!!! Matoba-san, please keep on guesting on Geneten!
pheww... and not I need to get some food... blueberries smooties?

You can easily mistaken if the huge caption there is not about eating... XD

Yamapi: I'm going to eat you tonight <3 (complete with the glitters LOL)
