rambles & mumbles...

Getsuku dorama is back to the usual theme, rabu rabu! And off course with eye candy, double ikemen with the same name too! Oh dorama, you just love toying around with us, huh? First episode is basically giving us background and setting on what the drama would be and where all the drama would basically derive from. I'd think it's a good start and have a feeling that there're gonna be tons of angst in this drama. We already see the glimpse of it in Epi 2 preview.

Meet Aoi. Fukushi Sota's character here is a bit different (really A BIT, TINY THIN LAYER KINDA BIT) from his usual shoujo manga ikemen lead. In here, he's still kakkoii but more dorky and have zero confidence when it comes to Akari. He's just a typical 'boy' here, trying to have a panty peek (which he failed misserably), stealing a glance of the girl he likes. Again, zero confidence that therefore all the drama! You'd want to start smacking him to his senses since this very episode LOL.

Off course like any other dorama, we're blessed with:

Pretty scenery because it's summer. How many times you've seen this in a dorama? Yeah... but you'd still enjoy the FEELS...

And speaking about feels, we have these too! Those scenes that would make you feel warm & fuzzy or screaming with angst.

And finally, this episode just screaming viva seishun! as this is the past that builds up the drama ahead. A good start and I hope the drama team uphold the storyline together!

Gotta give it to TBS to make beautiful jidaigeki drama, Seriously, no matter how you look at it, every screen in this episode is beautiful. And most of all, we get to see a totally different Sato Takeru here. His acting is so delightful to watch. Being a naughty country bumpkin who later taste tonkatsu, his expression in that scene is brilliant! I hope this drama is running for 10 episode or so, not just an 3 episode drama like Liquid (I also enjoy Liquid, sake making is just mesmerizing, though it'll be more mesmerizing if I have a bottle of sake next to me too, ha!).

This rewatch activity started because I cannot get rid of 'I FOR YOU' song in my head, until now. That line 'Kokoro kara, kimi ni aishiteru...' seemed to play on repeat button in my head. Hence I thought, maybe I might as well rewatch the drama. I watched it more than a decade ago (yes, it's that old!!), and never did a rewatch. That time I watched it with the transcript on my hand and I just found Kyoko Fukuda's character is a ridiculously whiny, selfish and annoying brat. Plus Takeshi Kaneshiro was damn hot.

Years later, now, that I have substitle, and another hundreds of drama to compare with, rewatching this drama is a totally different experience. I still think that Masaki was selfish and annoying, but I can appreciate and even symphatize with her character better and Kyoko Fukuda did an awesome job considering she's only 17 that time to deliver such maturity and emotion. And Takeshi... he's just mesmerizing to watch (ha!).

I'm still not sure how to get rid of 'Kokoro kara, kimi ni aishiteru' repeats, maybe playing 'Monday Girl' on repeat will help... hmm... 

In a way, I start to appreciate this show, not all aspects of it, but some. I'm still only going to watch the episodes whereby the guests are either Johnny's or those that I like because this show somewhat makes those Johnny's idols that we know somewhat more human and though lots of aspects are still made for TV, we get to see a glimpse of the different side, not so glamorous and flashy side of them, and I really appreciate this.

So, for this time, it's Ouroboros combi aka Hanakimi reunion time! If you haven't watched the episode 1, you should watch it, seriously. And if you don't find me convincing at all (afterall I'm very bias LOL), maybe after you watch this episode, you really feel like watching it because they really do a good job with the promotion, mostly Toma's doing the work while Oguri is just laughing on the side, ha!

Sayonara Watashi ~ Fujiki is in it... so this is in the list. Suspect it'll go like Hirugao.
Kauka Bouraku ~ This looks like a big drama, I hope it's something similar to Hanzawa Naoki in terms of excitement

Spring has passed ans Summer will soon end, and what 2014 has given us? It's not a bad year in the drama-land, we get to see some good dramas, and some not so good ones. Again, my criteria of watching drama is off course skewed to my preference, and to hell with the ratings, though I'm quite happy if the drama that I watch gained ratings too. As always, it's gotta have the ikemen requirement fulfilled, if not, the story is better to be damn good. Ha!

So, without further a do, let's get on with the long post XD

Summer 2014

Summer has not ended yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll stick with this list and what's left will be the SPs. As usual, with the exception of 2013, summer has the least amount of drama in my watch list.

OMG, come one! What's this! They can just continue this into Season 3. The story of this drama is so deep and detailed with too many twist and turn. Yes, you'll need to really concentrate when watching else you'll be bewildered, but that what makes this drama interesting! and the truth! THE TRUTH! Kuraki was sure didn't expect that! Ha! I couldn't imagine what went on in his mind when he found out.

But really, this is a good drama!
Now, where's season 3? SP? movie? Anything?

Ooooo, can I hope for some sparks in this drama? It's just 1 more episode to go (only watch this with sub LOL)...
Btw, that's the worst party gala getup that I've seen for J-drama standard... surely they have more budget for this... they make Akeboshi-san looks like an auntie... why? oh why?
