Yappari Japonica Style...
Nov. 6th, 2018 07:18 pmHmmm, it's been months since I've even written anything about drama or Johnny's. Minna genkidesuka? Seriously, this year is a year of hurricaine in Johnny's sphere. T&T disbanded? Tsubasa quits Johnny's due to his illness (I don't know about this in details, I hope he's alright though), Tackey is on the way to succeed Johnny's (?)?? I put question mark there because, well, there're these 2 aunties sitting at the top still, and not to mention those senpais like Higashiyama and Kondo. Well, we'll see what's the next surprising news from Johnny's, so far it's been a roller coaster ride.
What I feel sad about from the T&T news is that I won't be able to dream seeing Tsubasa in Playzone live anymore, and no more Takizawa Kabuki (this year is his last performance). But I guess another era has finished and a new era to emerge, but will Johnny's be able to get back its golden age again?
Well, let's take a look at the youtube channel. It's again, just an extension of Tackey's channel, really, because there'a no way Johnny's will let go that paid subscription of 500yen a month for Johnny's web content. However, on the other hand finally the juniors are getting a wider exposure from the www. The next queation will be what's the next step for those juniors? Will they debut? SixTONE gets a new PV directed by Tackey. It's the standard low budget in door PV ala Johnny's. The song is catchy, no doubt making fans happy, but I'm curious about the direction. Are they just testing water or planning to gain more traction and get a debut, and after they debut, will they stay in youtube? It'll be interesting to see how the fans will react because these are the new batch of fans who are used to constant feeds of youtube, not once in every blue moon drops of blog postings like jweb.
Well, in the meantime, let's just enjoy the glorious of Taiga and Jessi in the PV.
Another sad news from Johnny's this year, Iwasaki Genki from Kinpuri suspended his activities due to depression. Hope he'll recover, and maybe it's a good sign that Johnny's recognizes mental health issues?
Maybe there're good things coming out from the change of era :)
