I think I'll be making caps for this show regularly because I find that capping sunshine boy is a cheaper anger management session for me. So, yeah... I got the feeling that they'll be covering more and more topics that may require constant look up on dictionary, but hey, after Last Hope? I bet it's nothing, really...



So, are we going to see the studious Aiba-chan every week? Not that I'm complaining, but maybe the show should add more budget to change his costume every now and then hehehe...


Oh, back to the topic, we're going to learn about Japanese people's health. So, compare to European, Japanese has more obesity gene.
me: really? am i reading the sentence correctly? if you look at Aiba-chan... he's so skinny, hardly have any fat... where's the obesity gene?
And, Aiba-chan sort of agree with me, apparently, why? it doesn't seem like it. So, there must be a wisdom to it. and it's about calories management.


So, we're at the place where we're going to learn about calories.
Aiba-chan is now accompanied by Watabe and Sawabe. So, his members are not fixed?


Happily entering the room and start touching on the gadgets... these 3 look just like kids LOL...

Aiba-chan is saying that he often sees those Calories on the nutrition labels but he doesn't understand as to how much he should be taking. Watabe then chirped in on the Zero calories stuffs as well.
So, Calories is basically energy burning.
1 cal is what it takes to boil 1gr of water to 1C higher.
For 1 day a person needs: 2600kcal for male and 2000kcal for female.


Then the question is how to measure calories in our food?


Oh, i so want this machine. It's a calory analyzer(?) basically you just need to put in the food on the plate for 100gr and it'll calculate the calories. Imagine if you have this at home, you'll be so stress over everything that you're going to eat LOL...


So between udon and soba which has more calories? Aiba & Watabe chose soba, while Sawabe chose udon.
Watabe is saying that soba has the image of dieting.
Aiba's argument is that soba is made from buckwheat while udon is made from plain flour.


True enough soba has more calories compare to udon per 100 gr (85kcal vs 66kcal).
Soba has higher calories because with the same weight, soba's base has higher calories, which is why people eat soba as diet food.
me: hmm... better start taking soba then... good to know, so to get thinner, we have to take food which base per gr has higher calories, so that with the same amount of food weight intake, we have more energy... naruhodo!
I like everybody's energy in here, they're so enthu in learning, and Aiba-chan seems to have fun in this show.


What happen if we're taking food with very high calories? It'll turn to body fat. *yikes*
1gr body fat is 9kcal.


They're very interesting with the zero calories food because, Japan really like to have this zero calories (even beer is zero calories).
So zero calories is sort of small amount of quantity inside the food, not zero. It's either diluted with water or added on fiber.
If, there's no calories in the food, we won't get fat by eating it, but we also won't have energy.
the 'naruhodo' face, we've seen this face so often and I think this is one of his habitual facial expression. Another habit that I missed out to cap is when he's thinking, he'll put his left hand over his head LOL... human is a creature of habit... interesting...


Is Calories zero and zero calories different?
Apparently so. Calories zero means there's less than 5kcal for every 100gr or 100ml. Zero calories means body absorption of calories is zero.
In general, the calories absorption on the labels are just indication.
Sigh, so pretty, but if seeing this pretty face hinder me from my migraine pills... I don't mind...
So, next question, is there any efficient method to of calories consumption?


Different people consume calories differently, and it's called basal metabolism.
Basal metabolism is the state of hunger, the basic state of consumption when people are doing nothing. For this only, 1000kcal is consumed.

So, here's the base calories burning based on age.


Now, they're doing experiment on how much is their basic metabolic consumption. The experiment is done by breathing for 15-20 min. not doing anything and no talking.
Hmm, the boy is not the type who'll have a nice sleeping posture. He couldn't lay down and stay still.


And the result is.. Aiba-chan basal metabolis, is 1576kcal, same as Watabe. and it's because he's too thin?


Yeah, he got no body fat... that's why.


Wanna show your abs to sensei? Turn around and show it to us LOL...
So, both muscled people and fat people have high basal metabolism? hmm.. interesting..
Which is why Sawabe has the highest high basal metabolism LOL


So, the next experiment is how many calories spent to do an activity for 30 minutes. 3 choices are 1. exercise 2. watch TV 3. study.
Aiba-chan & Sawabe chose #2 while Watabe chose #3.


So, to determine who gets to do #2, let's do sumo!


Off course the winner is Aiba-chan, he literally pushed off Sawabe LOL!!!!
So, this is the calories spent for each of them when they do nothing. Add on an activity, how much will it change?


First, Aiba-chan starts watching, not knowing what kind of movie it is...


Then he realizes that it's a horror movie, watch how his facial expression changes... in the course of 4 minutes air time LOL


He's really not comfortable with horror movie. Well, can't blame him, not everybody like to see horror movie and Aiba-chan, remember your haunted house episode from HnA?


Ah, gotta love these comedians! They finished early and left with Aiba-chan, so, off course they just have to do dokkiri LOL...

Dokkiri was a success! Aiba-chan's hand was so sweaty LOL


Off course, he'll soon laugh this dokkiri off hehe... he's a pro after all... and starts making complain why it has to be horror movie.


and he chose watching movie thinking that it's a love story movie or something LOL...
So, what's the result?
Sawabe doing exercise, his calories spent increased from 38.9kcal to 389kcal
Watabe studying, his calories spent didn't change much from 32.8kcal to 40kcal


What about Aiba's watching movie? Well, his calories spent increase a bit more than Watabe's to 44kcal.
Which Watabe has to chirp that it's because of Aiba chicken out.


So we've learned a lot this time as well...
and we also learned that chicken out takes away 4 calories... LOL!!!
