Aiba Manabu ~ 相葉マナブ Epi 005
May. 31st, 2013 09:28 pmProbably this episode will be one of the most wordy in Aiba Manabu world... and it's time for me to open my dictionary. Lots of information, but probably because it's Japan. I don't think all these stuffs will only apply to countries where people feel so safe around that they become ignorant, so definitely all these won't apply in Indonesia LOL!
This episode is about thieves, well, more of petty thieves aka dorobou in Japanese. I think the episode just show the case whereby dorobou only aims to steal your stuffs eg. money etc, not endangering the lives of the people living in that household. Well, Aiba Manabu's objective is more of light education, so the toned down version is more appropriate, else it's going to freak out those kids who watch this episode haha.. but off course, there are some pointers that we should take in as well :).

Ah, good bye the black hair Aiba-chan. But glad that he still keep the hairstyle or to be exact... he's growing his hair until the next hairstyle...
Why Japan is so safe? Aiba said it's because of great power of Japan's police. Every town always have a police box. (yeah, we're talking about a relatively very safe country here haha). There's also the Crime prevention program.

So the police box systems comes from Japan and it's adopted by Indonesia and Brazil.
Me: Indonesia? Seriously? Is there any? Really?
However, in the relatively safe country like Japan, surprisingly there're lots of cases of thievery, it reached up to 1,150,000 cases a year.
Let's learn about the wisdom of crime prevention.

Sawabe is back! Along with Takeyama. Only 3 of them, so there's no contest or anything XD.
So Aiba-chan begins with the topic of crime prevention, eg. if dorobou were in your house. Then he threw the question to member, have you become a dorobou? LOL!!!
Off course the members spat him back, if they have been before, no way they would say... Aiba-chan... stay gold with your weird questions LOL!!!
We start with the miniature simulation.

They were excited studying the miniature when sensei surprised them and they were... 'what???'

Sensei was very cute in imitating how dorobou lurks to surprise people LOL... and that's Aiba-chan's laugh hehe...
Then, back to the lesson...
And there's a batsu game later.... gee, I wonder hahaha...

Which houses that dorobou will pick as a target? That's the question that members have to guess.

So, the easy targets are houses at corners where there are blind spots, houses facing playground parks or convenient stores.
Park and kombini gives dorobou covers to do surveillance of the targeted houses activities. Like in those drama, dorobou plans first before making a move ne...

Aiba-chan trying to guess what other possible target...

Houses near the train as it's easy to break in while the break in noise can be covered by train noise.
Houses which has garage or steps for dorobou to do an easy climb.

I like the next segment because I can relate and it's the most common ignorance that we may have.
When you live in apartment, often you have intercoms which show the faces of people who press the bell. But sometimes there are intercom sound but you don't see anybody out there. DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR. It could be dorobou checking the house.
We often do this ne...
When delivery men press your intercom, don't just let open the door, open the door only for those that you recognize and always ask the delivery company name first...
me: I think it's more of common sense, if you don't order anything, less likely there'll be package coming to your house, no? And normally if you're working chances are, delivery company will call you first to notify that they'll be coming (DHL does this and EMS just happily will ask you to go to post office and pick them up)... Maybe Japan is different? I don't know...

Yeah, Aiba-chan is learning and getting excited.
Most of our doors now have a peeping hole with the purpose to check whose outside the door. But it can be done reverse as well, which is what Aiba-chan was doing in the cap. Using the special scope, dorobou can see what's inside your house. Which is why I think nowadays, houses has a hall corridor prior to the living room.
Or, you cover the door using curtain so that it can't be seen from outside.

Next is a normal family house from the front. What's wrong with the picture?
First, is the family name list. It shows how many people living in the house.
me: I think only Japan has this. I don't see other country have family name list outside the house. No way!!!

Another way for dorobou to see how many people living in the household is from your laundry. So to cover this, hang your sheets and blankets on the front side. Naruhodo!

Next, don't ever ever put your spare key under the pot.
me: Gee... if there're people still doing that... speechless. Reality is not drama no?

Another point is the key. Each key has serial numbers and if dorobou knows that number, he can just go to the key maker and duplicate your keys. and also the key shown here is the one very easy to duplicate LOL.
me: If my key house is like that, I'll make sure I change the key, only 1 line there... that's a very cheap key... Your key should have at least 2 or 3 lines. Expensive keys will have 5 to 6 hehe... and that's about decades ago...

So, sensei introduce the key with higher security level. They bold out the key with dots. (me: that's my key LOL, I use that not because of safety though, but coz it's easy to use LOL)

Next is the dorobou marking, in the simulation, it's marked as X. Salesman also use this kind of marking. The show put up samples of markings.

K these are the fancy gadgets that are currently available for crime prevention. Eg. the face detector camera, robot patrols.
Me: on the robot thingy, maybe the assumption is that dorobou is slow and baka hahaha...

This segment is more interesting and more practical. It's what you can use to protect your house.
Number one method how dorobou make an entry is through window. So now we have the special glass. This glass is thicker and it's layered with film (too lazy to look up what film layer).

Next is the crime prevention stone, it makes noise with the slightest move.

So, Aiba-chan tested the stone and got freaked out with the uncle screaming...

Yey, I love this show... bullying Aiba-chan is entertainment ne LOL...

Next is the carpet... this one is interesting hehehe...

Aiba-chan made a wrong move by letting Takeyama holding the dorobou prevention gadget hehe...

So, he got the batsu game LOL

Yes it's OK to bully Aiba-chan LOL!!!
I want this gadget hahaha...

Dorobou!!!!!! LOL

So cute hehehe...
And now, let's see if there's Music Station uploads out there already LOL...
