Healthy food ala Matsujun...

OK, I just have to try Matsujun's original recipe LOL...
I think Matsujun just whipped up something from what's available in his fridge and I'd love to see what's inside his fridge...

So the ingredients are:
1 block of tofu (don't use silken tofu, the texture is too soft, use a good pressed tofu, preferably those fresh ones)
1/8 pc of onion, thinly sliced
1 box of natto (if your natto is frozen, heat it up in microwave for about 20 sec, then stir it well)
Few pieces of kimchi (I cut it to bite size)
Sprinkles of bonito flakes (I bought those cheap bonito flakes in packets and didn't even use the whole packet)
2 splashes of soy sauce (I use yuzu ponzu, it gets rid the natto and kimchi smell)
Topping: sesame seeds (I didn't bother to use this because, I don't use sesame seeds in my other dishes)

How to: all raw, stack the ingredients according to the order and... done!

Taste? Surprisingly good LOL!!! And thanks to Matsujun, natto actually tastes quite good (at least the brand that I bought now). I bought Azuma natto (this brand). I think the soybeans used for this one is bigger than the regular natto.
So, surprisingly the raw onion gives out sweetness when eaten together with natto. The kimchi is just something extra to me, to add texture and a bit of sour taste, that's all. You can omit the kimchi and replace it with other pickles if you don't like kimchi.

From this recipe, I get the impression that Matsujun is really an oshare person in real life, and definitely the food he eats are delicate, careful and... definitely not cheap, and the result shows (he's getting more and more handsome this days, don't you think so?)

So, if I eat this like for 2 weeks, will I also lose 3kg? Nah... I don't think I'll survive with just raw cold tofu LOL!!!

Sounds yummy, probably makes for a good quick lunch.

Matsujun should get a healthy eating for the single idol cookbook deal. Cause I know it would get translated and I would love some more healthy cooking ideas for when I'm home alone.

[identity profile] nekobot01.livejournal.com 2013-06-01 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
WOW!! Good report! I want to try this for dinner... I might add some spinach and make it more like salad.

I think Matsujun is oshare in real life, too. He is looking SO handsome these days~ it helps to get all the junk food out. :)))

I wonder what he ate in Paris and London. Hmm...

OH!!! Matsujun should write a cookbook! That would be so amazing!! With pictures and everything! I would buy two!

Do try it, I find this recipe is interesting! and easy LOL!

Let's hope for a hanamaru cafe and he bring pics on what he ate in Paris & London? Or MS asking the same question? I'd love to see that also...

Why granpa Johnny never think of this? Matsujun + cookbook = money! Matsujun just need to start whip out things from his fridge, that's all LOL...

wait..you add raw onion too? is it good?
and kimchi with soy sauce maybe it will be better :D
hmm...maybe i really should make it :P

matsujun really should release a cookbook, with lots of pics of his in the kitchen and his cooking i bet it will become a bestseller D:

[identity profile] spsn.livejournal.com 2013-06-03 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
yep add raw onion, but dont add too much, if u dont like kimchi, use ponzu, it'll reduce the smell XD

yes matsujun cook book is a guaranteed best seller, add on photo of him cooking w only apron n sales will be double XD lol

[identity profile] qonyta.livejournal.com 2013-06-05 08:25 am (UTC)(link)
i tried it without natto, i forgot to bought it :P
it is still edible, i can eat it but raw onion is too strong for me so yeaahh XD
maybe i must add it with natto to make it better :P

[identity profile] spsn.livejournal.com 2013-06-05 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
ehhhhhhh? u have to retry w natto, it makes the difference, really. kimchi+onion alone is not a good combination to me, too strong esp if its raw onion XD

[identity profile] qonyta.livejournal.com 2013-06-05 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
oh ok, i will retry it with natto :D

[identity profile] miniliel.livejournal.com 2013-06-30 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
lol.. i had to go all the way back on your journal to find this entry... *phew*

because i was talking about natto the other day with a friend.. i have never actually eaten natto. and now i'm about to XD and then i remembered seeing you posting this, and sayin it wasn't that bad (i don't have high expectations for the taste of natto. tbh, i'm slightly scared) XD
and well. since i'm in japan, all the ingredients are pretty easily available.. so.. tomorrow, this shall be my dinner XD i hope it tastes good, because now i have three portions of natto.. and i'm stingy enough to eat it all just because i have paid money for it.

lol

[identity profile] spsn.livejournal.com 2013-06-30 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL you bought that 1 pack 3 boxes of natto, didn't you?
I keep buying natto ever since coz it's not so expensive and I like to eat it with somen LOL (surprisingly I like this, well maybe coz I like slimy stuff) and since I have to loose weight (really have to now)... yeah, natto is my friend now LOL...

[identity profile] miniliel.livejournal.com 2013-06-30 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah.. the supermarket i went only had the 3 boxes packs.. so now i have to eat them all. i just hope it's good enough XDDD i hope natto will become my friend as well.. since it wouldn't actually hurt me to eat bit more healtily..

the good part is that i actually really like kimchi (and i've even missed kimchi since i left korea).... XD

the natto that i bought come with the sauces. so if you don't like plain natto, add some ponzu (little bit only), I find it quite nice :)

[identity profile] miniliel.livejournal.com 2013-06-30 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, i'll keep that in mind! thanks for the hint <3 my friend said she tried natto with the mustard (that came with the natto package she bought) but that it wasn't that good combo..

[identity profile] spsn.livejournal.com 2013-06-30 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, you need to mix that mustard w/ the tare sauce, mustard + natto only think wont work well, must have some sauce hehehe...

[identity profile] miniliel.livejournal.com 2013-07-01 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
i tried this yesterday.. and.. i. just. can't. with natto. no. cannot do it. it was horrible.

[identity profile] spsn.livejournal.com 2013-07-02 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
that means u dont like spimy food?
well, u've tried so no more curiosity XD
natto is acquired taste though hehe

[identity profile] miniliel.livejournal.com 2013-07-02 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
with natto, it's not really about the texture, but just the taste, that is horrible.. i just can't with the taste >.
