spsnFirstly, Selamat Hari Raya for those who celebrate! XD It's a joy celebration after the whole month of fasting and off course the moments of foregiveness :)
For this episode, the topic is to make tennen unadon from scratch, meaning, they have to catch the eel aka outdoor location shooting. This time the guest is the daisenpai, Higashiyama-san. I'd expect that the interaction will be more interesting than last week's when the guest is the kouhai, HSJ's Chinen. Sadly... it's not. You'll see Aiba-chan was so goodie in this episode and held back A LOT. Luckily he had Watabe and Sawabe (my 2 fave members) in this episode so it's not so awkward. I'd blame Higashiyama on this because he's throwing in the 'oohh I'm the huge senpai, bow to me kouhai!' vibe... it's fun at the beginning aka dated years ago on AniShi, but dude, you cannot pull the same trick all the time, I've watched your multiple appearance and it's getting boring! I kinda want to pet Aiba-chan for trying so hard to make it less awkward and enjoyable to watch. Next episode will be fun, I think.
I'm capping only the parts which is funny or don't require too much brain translation, but hopefully you still get the whole idea. XD

Opening, somebody is questioning the difference on the uniform? Seriously sempai??? It's your kouhai's show!
And try to hijack your kouhai's opening speech? Your kouhai tries to backpedal the mess you've brought upon... if I haven't seen your appearance on Arashi show before, I'd find it funny to have this 'bully the kouhai' but the problem is, you're daisempai, not TOKIO, so Aiba-chan (well the whole Arashi crew) is always goodie two shoes with you... and that's freaking apparent...
So how to start the unadon? Let's catch it!

Why? because until to that point, dear dai-senpai has been sprouting facts info which supposed to be narrated by Aiba-chan. I'm not sure if this is scripted but I don't really like this senpai stuff to be emphasized again and again... the beginning is enough, but not continuous...
Based on calendar, those days highlighted in red is 'doyou no ushi no hi'. and the 29th is *not really sure the meaning*, but it's something about the period of the Cinese Zodiac.
Why we eat unadon during doyou no ushi no hi? The history goes back to Edo period, some samurai gave advice to the unagi seller to sell unadon during the period because the shop is not selling well. *something like that*
Another fact... Unagi is rich with Vitamin B. How to catch tennen unagi? There's 3 methods *see picture*.
I skip the why the location has lots of eels to catch part...
They changed to fishing gear (Ohno would love this). and with Watabe suggestion, they split into Aiba team & Higashiyama team.
But both members want to be under Aiba-chan team and finally it's decided that Watabe to be under Aiba-chan's team.
So that's the team but how come it looks like they're not working as a team? Hmmm...
Sawabe: If we don't catch any, this (the shooting) won't be used...
LOL, Sawabe is always honest hahaha...
Conversation between senpai & kouhai... awkward...
First Aiba-chan asking senpai's age. He's turning 48 already, wow, his face doesn't change that much... sasuga... idol...
Aiba-chan is 32 now and asked, whether there's any turning point during the 30s period?
Senpai: There's none, it's always been the same since the debut...
me: REALLY? Don't BS me senpai! this is just like Nakai saying 'renai wa kinshi' (love relationship is forbidden)
Then, Aiba-chan try to make another conversation by recycling the old Hawaii vacation or something story, whereby Higashiyama push him to the pull...
poor Aiba-chan... not much story to use coz lots of them you can't use?
Bonus cap: prettiness... and why his hair is so smooth???? It's not so noticeable when it's black, but now it's dyed... it's like puppy's fur....
2nd method... the 1st three attempt are failure coz they don't go to further to the middle of the river...
Aiba-chan's turn...
And he caught one and it's quite thin!!!
Apparently if the size is less than 26cm, you have to let it go and it's not nice for unadon... so they decided to let it go since it's almost there but not there size...
Before they let it go, Aiba-chan name the eel, una-chan... and he's ready to let una-chan go by.. THROWING it...
Sensei quickly stopped Aiba-chan and said that he has to release it slowly... LOL
Bye bye Una-chan!
So they use the 3rd method and they got 1, ONE tennen unagi...
Bonus cap: after all that hardwork his hair is still... perfect!
So, since they only have 1 tennen unagi, the staff obviously had prepared the other eel for the other team, which is... the farmed unagi, bigger in size. So, this is like farmed chicken and free range chicken...
Aiba-chan... preparing the unagi... almost let the eel escape.
Senpai: that could be Arashi's new choreography *Senpai, this is the only time you're really funny*
Different way of splitting unagi is different between kantou (blue) & kansai (red). This is based on their culture of being merchant (Kansai) & samurai (Kantou)

Grilling the unagi...
Then we're making the sauce.
Here they're using shoyu (homemade, which they did for 6 months), apple juice, and sugar.
So, that means they made LOTS of this homemade shoyu. The staff are really dedicated LOL...
Mix all the ingredients into sauce pan, and boil and you got the unadon sauce.
Dip the half grilled unagi with the sauce
and put back to the grill...
And it's done!
Aiba-chan must be thinking, it's not dark yet and we're almost done! Yey!!!!

Senpai is switching to have a taste too...
and damn it, he should at least stay with the tradition that tennen is good, but nope he don't and the kouhai has to do damage control by saying tennen has the crunch... well... I'd think you can interpret it as like in free range chicken, it somehow tastier compared to the farmed chicken. This will apply to all kinds of food, I guess...
Lastly, the senryuu...

From now on, when unagi rises on the higashiyama? I don't really get the exact meaning, but putting senpai's name there is... sucking up? hahaha...
