Hmmm... slightly disappointed, last year's medley was much better, but fear not, there's always room to fangirl when half of the Johnny's groups are on the same stage, so... yeah...

Well, M-Station had the answer by pulling a street survey of 2 different generation, Heisei (kiddies) & Showa (grannies & grandpas). This is from yesterday's M-Station... So... what are they?

Less than 2 hours to go on passing of the 1st day of the year 2014!

Clearly I have nothing to do on new year for the past few years, so the time spent by being a couch potato watching Music shows and this year is the whole 2 season of 'Kakumeiki no Valvrave' after seeing TM Revolution x Mizuki Nana performed the OST at Kouhaku. And yeah, I watched Kouhaku on streaming for Linked Horizon, not for Arashi LOL.

Then, it's JCD time and yesterday's JCD was so lackluster for me because... no V6, no Arashi, and should we be greatful that they still have Kinki and T&T on the show? T__T and most definitely... no Anda Lucia Akogarete!

So, I turn back the time to the old JCD... and 2003-2004's performance is still the best, but today is the first time I see the one from 2005-2006 and it's a totally different side of Anda Lucia Akogarete XD.

Password: AndaLucia

and off course, thankfully Youtube still has the gold 2003 performance XD

May we have a blissful 2014!!!

シャレオツ HA! and it's not even a fair play if we get this kind of fan service...

vlcsnap-00191
Kimutaku is totally rocking this song... too many fan service!

vlcsnap-00197
and Shingo joined the winking contest as well...

vlcsnap-00200
and he winked with the other eye too...

vlcsnap-00201vlcsnap-00202
My fangirl heart skipped when he did this... I bet those girls there were in cloud nine when he did that... especially the one with the grey dress...

vlcsnap-00205
Camera is not a mirror, no? You need to stop winking, not fair!!!

vlcsnap-00206
How kakkoii is that... sigh... I feel tired after watching this... *fan myself*

Where's the Arashi clip and I'm still not happy they're wearing SKIRTS... can't the stylist make it more manly like the long jackets that SMAP wore here??? I hope I don't see those skirts anymore in kouhaku, they need to be burned!
spsn: (Default)
I just got a hold of nostalgic Getsu9... the time when I have no idea who's Kimutaku, what's Johnny's and its empire... so basically we turn back the time to... 20 years ago LOL!!! *god I feel old LOL*

Let's start off with Asunaro Hakusho... am pretty sure I'm not yet in high school when I watched this series and I still remember that I hate Kakei-kun (though girls in my school swooned over him, even my mom) and I think Narumi was damn stupid for not choosing Osamu. Plus, Matsuoka-kun was a cutie and I wanted him to be with Seika. I was so so so angry when they killed off Matsuoka-kun,  LOL... and the OST, everybody in school knew and could sing Fumiya Fujii's 'True Love', such a classic song...

Back to 2013, I still hate Kakei-kun because he's just an angry and self centered boy who played victim. I kind of sympathize with Narumi though still miffed that she still stick with Kakei-kun, but guess that's what love is huh... and now I know Kimutaku is Osamu... so... plus point for Osamu and my eyes back then didn't lie to me that I liked Nishijima-san since back then LOL

vlcsnap-04729vlcsnap-04730
sigh... when we see scene like this... melt melt...

vlcsnap-04732vlcsnap-04731
Didn't get the cap for that FAMOUS scene coz... I watch this drama by hoping from episode to episode... too depressing to see these 5 people keep on hurting each other...

vlcsnap-04733vlcsnap-04734
my favorite couple in the drama, though short lived... sigh... why everybody love Kakei-kun? I'm still baffled on that LOL...

Then fast forward to early college years, I watched Love Generation... without subs... oops... by this time, I have an idea who's Kimutaku and I thought he's hot, but I didn't know that he's that that popular LOL... my impression on this drama (no subs, mind you) is it's the merry go round drama, they fought, patch up, fought, patch up, and thank goodness it's a happy end.

Back to 2013, my Japanese is better and I have subs! With this, the watching experience is totally different. It's a fun drama to watch, Kimutaku and Matsu Takako chemistry is gem! And Matsu Takako pouted a lot in this drama, probably more than how Kitagawa Keiko in Buzzer Beat and I still love her... guess... bias much LOL... and oh, they're using the billboard just like in Buzzer Beat and they have the glass apple (I wanted that apple so bad back then, but couldn't find it LOL)

vlcsnap-04720vlcsnap-04721
my favorite scene, and probably everybody's too LOL... who doesn't go kya on this?

vlcsnap-04722vlcsnap-04723
First she refused to be kissed...

vlcsnap-04724vlcsnap-04725
Then he 'lip touch' her... and she... That's it? LOL!!!

vlcsnap-04727vlcsnap-04728
Yeah, this is better! KYAAAA....

So, we all know that Matsujun has been glowing and looking good and considerably younger from the past few years ago (even my friend who's not a fan disbelieved when she saw him on the magazine covers couple weeks ago) over the past months or to be exact since last year. From Music Station in March, he's said that he's been living a healthy lifestyle by drinking veggie juice and eating healthy and that time he shared his tofu recipe, which is yummy (I'm still making it every now and then XD). Now in Hanamaru Cafe for Hidamari no Kanojo, he's sharing his usual 'breakfast' with us.

See? Matsujun still looking good despite the huge panda eyes in this Hanamaru Cafe and you see the glow...

vlcsnap-04714

Matsujun's recipe to glow >__< )

And I wonder if this healthy lifestyle also means... dropping the tabako too hahaha... slim chance, but I'd like to think that he'll do that eventually...

When they're talking about mugi miso... and what do you know, there's a Kyuzu fair at Isetan and they're selling fresh MUGI MISO! What a coincidence! I bought about 400gr, but come to think of it... it may be gone in a jiffy considering that now I have to fight with my dad for the share of miso paste... -__-"

1383484_10151700771153348_963283635_n
So, how does it taste? Well, definitely OISHII! I tried the sampling and it's damn good! ... what does it mean by good? In a nut shell, the impression given by Aiba-chan and the members are true. It has mugi smell, but it's not as strong as what they said, at least for me, and it's not so salty, in fact it has some amount of sweetness in it. I love tasting the paste itself because it's very different compare to the regular box miso paste. The texture without the barley bits is very smooth and clean and I'd think Aiba-chan will describe it as creamy.

The good thing is that this fresh miso paste can last 6 months on the fridge and 1 year on the freezer, which is GOOD because I don't think I'll cook miso shiru every week.

Judging from the taste, apart from miso shiru, I'd think yakiniku is another gem to try. How to do? just cook the meat on the pan and put a bit of miso on top of it and roll the meat, i think it'll work, I'll try it if I have time XD.

See? Aiba Manabu is educative!

and since mugi miso is not as salty, my dad love it (though never really say it), so I'm foreseeing him taking the miso for his noodle soup...
spsn: (Default)
I was supposed to translate Aiba Manabu Epi 22, I will ganbatte better tomorrow, coz the episode itself deserve a post, despite the rants that I have for it too, which is 90% the same as the previous episodes, but hey, until it changes, I'll never stop ranting so please bear with me haha...

Wait... I was supposed to talk about soy milk this time. I bought a soy milk maker about more than a month ago. When I was a child, my mom bought a soy milk maker and it's only used once (I remember because I only get to drink fresh soy milk that one time only LOL), why? It's because the machine was freaking huge and complicated. That left a huge impression on me and until that few months ago I thought soy milk maker is difficult to clean. My perception changed until my friend raved about how she's been enjoying a fresh soy milk with her soy milk maker. Checked them out at Best Denki (SG's Big Camera/Best Buy) and bought one. I bought the Philip brand (this one). If you're thinking of buying it, wait until it's on sale because it's really worth your money XD, at least for me.

So, what have I done after that faithful purchase? That's right, I've been making my own soy milk almost 4 times a week. Each batch is about less than 1L so that means it's about 3 glassful of fresh soy milk on the go and it only takes 25 minutes for the machine to do its job and another few minutes to strain and do the cleaning. No more wasting $1.40 everyday for 1 glass of soy milk (not going to mention the brand, but SG peeps, you know which brand I'm talking about XD, and it used to be less than 1$ years ago). I love that soy milk brand but after making my own soy milk, I realize that there's a very strong residue on my mouth after finishing it and I don't feel that when I drink my own soy milk. So... what's that supposed to mean? Preservatives? Emulsifier? I don't know, but I've stopped buying soy milk (yeah, sometimes, I'm still that lazy LOL).

Most of the time I'll just make the regular soy milk, which mean just soaked soy beans plus water. However, I've done a bit of experiment too. I've tried red bean milk, which only drinkable when it's hot, once it becomes cold or chilled, it'll clumped up. Perhaps, I'll mix the beans next time. I've also tried almond soy milk, which means, just add another half cup (machine's cup, not the normal cup) of almond to the soy milk. It's nice too, but I still prefer the pure soy milk. And, today I tried the organic soy milk. Tasted much cleaner and smoother than the regular soy milk that I've been making. Organic soy beans are pricey, but, it's not as expensive if you think how many batches of soy milk you can whip up from that 1 bag of beans.

How about the cleaning part? I'm very lazy in washing dishes but for this one, I'm OK with it. Why? Because I only need to rinse with water and wipe, that's all. Every now and then, I'll use the 'easy clean' function, but I guess, if you use it often, just wiping it clean will be good enough. See? it's that easy, ha!

Besides drinking it, I've used soy milk for making soup (as milk substitute). Regular soy milk is thinner than milk so you'd need to lessen the water if you want to use soy milk for your soup. I use soy milk most often for my eggs. Soy milk soften my scramble eggs and it makes it fluffier too XD. Another use of soy milk that I like is to cook gyoza. Instead of water, I use soy milk and it's yummy to XD.

So, what's next? If I have the time, I'd like to try to thicken the soy milk, then whip up some soy mousse, that'll be nice XD. I haven't tried green bean milk, thought the traditional way of boiled green beans is still better.

If you like soy milk like me, give soy milk maker a try and I'd think you'll never turn back XD!!! Here's to healthier living :)

Just thought of sharing my take after reading amnosxmatsujun's translation of the following:

http://amnosxmatsujun.livejournal.com/63405.html

It's a translation from a TV Guide's staff blog, which in summary highlighted Aiba-chan's work ethic and attitude and show how he is off screen. Despite his busy schedule, he read through the questionnaires given to him beforehand (51 questions of questionnaires is no joke especially when you have to think how to answer it politically correct and those answer have to cater to the target market intended), prepared his answers (and I don't think they're just short answer of 5 words judging from the way the staff blog's written) and when he met the staffs, in which slotted at the end of his day, without showing tiredness, he smiled and offer to run through his answers with the staff. Having read that, it's a no wonder why people want to work with Arashi. It's the professionalism and their appreciating people around them despite them being on the top now.

Now, how many of us will do the same if our boss ask for status meetings at the end of the day? How many of us will prepare things wholeheartedly before that meeting? I'm definitely guilty in all of that and I've come to a point that I don't even prepare for those meetings and just brisk my way through from on top of my head because... oh so many reasons. So, this piece of translation pokes my conscience to reflect on my current work ethics. I don't think answering questionnaires is something that Aiba-chan likes, especially if you have dozens of similar questionnaires from various magazines and you have to remain consistent while giving different variety of answers and again, catering your answers to the target readers.

It's not much different from us. Similarly, we have lots of things that we don't like from our work, at least for me, not because I totally hate my work, but just because it's so tedious and めんどくさい that we're used to call it 'dirty work' but somebody still have to do it. Yet to have the same level of energy of enthusiasm to do those dirty work is really difficult. In other words, Aiba-chan just showed me that I need to buck up my level of professionalism in handling my job and shame on me if I'm not able to do so because his schedule is definitely much more hectic and chaotic (though he got PAs to organize it for him, but I also have at least a shared secretary helping us so that our meetings don't clash) can maintain the consistent level of work ethic, why can't I? If he can make time within his schedule to do something like that, why can't I make time reviewing more things in between my meetings?

Truly something to reflect on...

I'd wonder how long I'll take to fill this out... let's start! And also because I'm avoiding my own work and monday is coming OMG... the stress... so I need dear Johnny & Co to heal haha...

Which Johnny's unit is your favorite? Arashi
Why? Because at one point in time their goodies save me from depression and costly psychiatric treatment.
Who is your favorite Johnny? It gotta be the sun shine boy, Aiba-chan!
What Junior/Junior unit do you hope will debut next? Have no idea! I don't follow Juniors, period.
Who is your favorite senpai unit (Before SMAP)? Don't know and not really try to know too.
When was your very first contact with a Johnny? V6's Music for The People. If it's drama, then it's way backkk from Kimutaku's appearance on 'Ordinary People' drama. But I don't even know Johnny's back then (no internet!).
How did you learn about him/them? V6 appeared in my life from the stack of CDs that my brother passed them to me every 6 months when he's back on vacation XD. Did try to know more by buying stacks of Myojo, only that time my Japanese sucked big time still.
Do you have a favorite actor in Johnny’s? Nino
What was your very first drama starring a Johnny? As mentioned before, it's be Ordinary People.
Do you have a favorite drama starring a Johnny? Too many, but if you see several tops of all time, it'll be from Nino's resume eg. Yasashii Jikan, Ryusei no Kizuna
What Johnny's drama have you watched lately? Hm... Summer Nude. There's always Johnny's drama for every season and they're everywhere.
Who do you wish would act in a drama (that hasn’t already, of course)? Give Massu and Ohkura more decent drama! And a new Nino drama!
How many times a day do you think about Johnny’s/your favorite unit? Well, I listen to Johnny's everyday so it won't be that far off from my brain :p.

Do you have a Johnnys group/ Johnny on your desktop wallpaper? I'm lazy, I just take CM's wallpaper and I haven't change it after I put Aiba's insurance CM wallpaper (yeah I know it's bloody photoshoped, but I'm just... lazy). Maybe I'll change it to Kirin's wallpaper again later.
What would you do if your favorite Johnny knocked on your door? I think I'll just froze from a shock (freaking out inside my brain though).
What advantages does liking Johnny’s/Johnny’s groups give you? You never know who you'll meet in fandom and would probably won't meet in RL and from accross continent as well. Love it!
What disadvantages does it give you? I'm all by myself in RL. I can't talk about my interest in RL because people around me will quickly bash me. K-pop makes it worse because the impression of people will be girls screaming hysterically over some boyband... not always, right? And I still find K-pop fangirls are more barbaric (still can't forget a girl shove me out on hand shake event to grope Brian Jo's butt, seriously...???)
Have you ever dreamt about a Johnny? Yes.
If yes, what was the dream about? Hmm, good question, not really remember those dreams because they don't come by often. But I do remember feeling good after waking up XD
Do you have an OTP? If yes, who is it? No OTP.
If you could make one wish about Johnny’s, what would it be? They to stop they faction BS, and go out there as 1 company and have cross tagging which whoever whatever, not just 1 block here and there. And let international fans to be FC member too and ballot for concert tickets (esp. Arashi!)
If you were a Johnny, who would you be? Ohno, coz I'm hardworking but I also like to laze around doing my hobbies (just that my hobbies are not as fantastic & great as Ohno's)
If you could ask your favorite Johnny a question, what would it be? Dunno, never came across my mind.
What is your #1 favorite song by a Johnny's group? Ai Nanda. by V6. (all time favorite!)
Do you listen to Johnny's music the most? Yep, coz I'm too lazy to change my playlist and the good thing about Johnny's is that it's like a one stop shop, it offers so wide range variety of music that I can't be bothered to look elsewhere.
Which band/singer did you listen/like the most before Johnny's? DEEN, Mischiru, B'z, BREAKERZ, and from K-pop is H.O.T (yeah I'm from that era, okay LOL),
If you were Johnny, what would you change about the Jimusho? Utilizing Youtube to your advantage instead of shunning away from technology. Open up the boys to larger international market, and it doesn't matter if the boys can't speak English, fans will learn Japanese and fans are willing to go Japan to see the concert, so long you open the ticket for them :P.

SMAP

Why do you like/dislike this group? I like SMAP from SMAPxSMAP and since long time ago always thought that SMAP can't harmonize and their songs are always weird. But I guess my taste of music also change along the way. SMAP still can't sing for their live (esp Nakai) but they have good solid songs. And lately their songs are catchier than ever.
Who is your favorite member? Kimutaku, it's gotta be him LOL.
Why? He's overall kakkoii and perfectionist attitude and hate to lose XD but he also can give you those slutty and sexy fan service... hmmm...
Who is your least favorite member? Tsuyopon.
Why? I don't understand his charm.
What is your favorite PV? JOY
What is your favorite song? Arigatou (it moved me)
Do you have a favorite concert performance? Kimutaku's solo in Pop Up SMAP con. As much as I like glitters and twirling Johnny's I also like the mature ballad numbers.
Which member do you think sings the best? Kimutaku.
Which member do you think dances the best? Nakai (he cannot sing but he can bloody dance)
Which member do you think is the prettiest? Kimutaku is pretty but if you go for features, it'll be Goro-chan.
Which member do you think the manliest? Kimutaku
Which member do you think is the cutest? Shingo
Which member do you think is the funniest? Shingo
Which member do you think has the best physical appearance? Kimutaku

TOKIO

Skipping this because I don't really following TOKIO

V6

Why do you like/dislike this group? My first Jpop love and they got ridiculously lots of good songs, very wide range of songs because they always trying new things so you don't get the same style of songs often. And their concerts are one of the best in my opinion. Low budget, not grand but they have creativity and no backup dancers! for the later concerts. Their GEI is the best variety show, too many goodies there!
Who is your favorite member? Ken!
Why? Because he's a brat and he has the skin to envy.
Who is your least favorite member? Don't have because all of them play a role to make it a V6 and I don't have the heart to put Mama Nagano as the last haha...
Why? NA
What is your favorite PV? It'll be Guilty. Black and white, suits, slick dance *kyaaa*
What is your favorite song? Ai Nanda.
Do you have a favorite concert performance? Voltage from Vibes con 2008.
Which member do you think sings the best? Sakamoto, hands down.
Which member do you think dances the best? My preference is Ken's but technique wise, Sakamoto's
Which member do you think is the prettiest? Ken
Which member do you think the manliest? Okada
Which member do you think is the cutest? Okada
Which member do you think is the funniest? Inocchi
Which member do you think has the best physical appearance? Okada

KinKi Kids

Why do you like/dislike this group? The image of both of them sporting Pink Lady getup playing UFO and their pic sporting playboy bunny getup in Myojo burnt my eyes that I don't even bother to find out more about this kinki kids, even until now LOL...
Skipping the rest but my fave from Kinki Kids are their ballads eg.
Anniversary and Seppaku no Tsuki performance http://youtu.be/Ddlv4D0eWB8

Arashi

Why do you like/dislike this group? They have strong presence. Though their varieties funnies are questionable lately but they do have lots of golden treasures on their old ones (CxDxG no Arashi, Arashi no Shukudai-kun). They have good variety of music too (which is what I love the one stop shop product line)
Who is your favorite member? Aiba
Why? Because he is the cute and kind human being, and he can be perverted while look cute too.
Who is your least favorite member? Sho
Why? He thinks too much and doesn't come cross as likable to me.
What is your favorite PV? Too many, but I'd say Truth because it's the most different PV out of the lots.
What is your favorite song? Everything
Do you have a favorite concert performance? Too many! Love the 5x10 performance on 2009 Con, but if you're talking about the latest, it's gotta be the double deck orchestra performance in Arafes.
Which member do you think sings the best? Ohno
Which member do you think dances the best? Ohno
Which member do you think is the prettiest? Aiba
Which member do you think the manliest? Sho
Which member do you think is the cutest? Aiba
Which member do you think is the funniest? Aiba (althought lately he's more quiet and let the others run the show while he's putting on his polite smile or giggling on the background that it makes me wonder if something happened to him)
Which member do you think has the best physical appearance? Matsujun (Sho's the second, but Matsujun's waist is just... hmm...)

Tackey & Tsubasa

Skipping this coz I don't really know about their songs and the goodies.
But my fave song from T&T is their christmas song, Heartful Voice. (see, I have the tendency to be attracted to these kinds of light fluffy songs)

NEWS

Why do you like/dislike this group? Their music is pleasing to my ears and they're light!
Who is your favorite member? Massu!
Why? Because Massu has the cute and round appearance like a teddy bear but he's a fighter! I respect him after reading his 10K word interview. I hope he gets more drama and more appearances.
Who is your least favorite member? Shige
Why? Don't know much about him and his funny is weird to me.
What is your favorite PV? Koi no ABO
What is your favorite song? Sakura Girl
Do you have a favorite concert performance? Share from Utsukushi-con. Seeing Massu sobbing there makes me sob too.
Which member do you think sings the best? Massu
Which member do you think dances the best? Massu, check out his solo performance.
Which member do you think is the prettiest? Tego
Which member do you think the manliest? Koyama
Which member do you think is the cutest? Massu
Which member do you think is the funniest? Koyama
Which member do you think has the best physical appearance? Koyama, I still got the feeling that beneath those loose t-shirts, Massu is sporting some hot bod XD

Kanjani8

Why do you like/dislike this group? They're whacky and they have fun songs to melt your pain away. I'm treating Johnny's like coccaine, hey, they're cheaper too and have no health side effect except for lack of sleep and unhealthy dose of hard disk space required.
Who is your favorite member? Ohkura
Why?I'm weak to prettiness
Who is your least favorite member? Dunno coz I don't dwell in this group for long.
Why? NA
What is your favorite PV? Wahaha
What is your favorite song? Ai Deshita (I have a thing for their ballads)
Do you have a favorite concert performance? Dunno

And I'm skipping the rest.

KAT-TUN

Why do you like/dislike this group? Not really following the group because of their image to be the darker and rockish type of boyband, but come on, who are we kidding this is Johnny's. They do have couple of good songs, ballads and some equivalent to Johnny's glitter songs too. But those songs are underrated as their single title songs usually bound with the image. But do check out their B-sides, plenty of goodies there.
Who is your favorite member? Junno
Why? He's awkward and he's underrated.
Who is your least favorite member? Koki
Why? Koki-raps for every song and don't really like his fanservice LOL...
What is your favorite PV? To the Limit PV coz those slow mo kungfu moves are LOL
What is your favorite song? Yuki no Hana
Do you have a favorite concert performance? I only see Chain con and I like Yuki no Hana performance there

And I'm skipping the rest.

Hey! Say! Jump!

Skipping this because they're barely legal and it makes me look like pedobear.
Their songs (those performed at MS) are either Johnny's pastel color or K-pop beat.
But they do can dance, esp. Chinen and Yamada, they can twirl and spin perfectly that I think they had ballet background.

NYC - Skip, literally have no idea...

Kis-My-Ft2

Skipping this because I literally hate this group. Yes they also wait forever to debut and finally get their chance.
But what's with that 3 front and 4 backdancers thingy? First and second single is OK but not forever, even V6 stop doing this after their 3rd single. Plus the annoying tagging with SMAP... ugh...

Sexy Zone - Skip

Skipping this as well because they're like babies but I see future in them and they can shine with the right management. And I'm all right with them tagging on SMAP because they're the babies LOL...

A.B.C-Z

Why do you like/dislike this group? Orthodox Johnny's. It's all about show, and drama on the show with this group. Love their performances.
Who is your favorite member? Tsuka-chan
Why? I'll be very shallow here coz I only start watching their variety, he's cute.
Who is your least favorite member? Dunno yet
Why? NA
Skipping the rest because I have no idea...

Yamashita Tomohisa

Why do you like/dislike this group? He's a hardworking boy, you gotta respect him for that. Not the best singer and dancer but he'll make do and having that looks already proves that he can get that far. It'll be good if Pi can explore more song choices, then he can attract wider fanbase, i guess...
What is your favorite PV? Ero…
What is your favorite song? Loveless, there's something in his voice that makes me listen to this song xxx number of times
Do you have a favorite concert performance? Perfect Crime from Ero

K it takes me that long to finish this one... and I don't know that much of Johnny's after all LOL...
spsn: (Default)
Still digging of old files... and stop at Johnny's Countdowns...

What's Johnny's Countdown to you? To me:

It's where you see recycled concert costumes that most likely you'd like to forget, but alas, it appears again, for example:
vlcsnap-02578vlcsnap-02579
It gets better over the years, but you'll be reminded at times that such costumes exists...

It's where you get multiple fandoms collide and flood of fan services, and trolling...
vlcsnap-02577vlcsnap-02580

It's where you get to see old songs revived in Johnny's melody, Johnny's hit melody, and whatever melody mashed up and everybody seemed to know everybody's songs & choreography
vlcsnap-02585vlcsnap-02588

It's where you will always be reminded that there is a group called Shounentai and all your ichiban whatever know how to dance to their songs, especially Kamen Butoukai XD
vlcsnap-02592vlcsnap-02593

It's where you get to see who's still underage according to Japanese labor law because they'll be sitting there, not on the stage...
vlcsnap-02595

and lastly, you get to see Johnny's boys that you less likely want to see because this is the best way for Johnny's to market the boys to a wider audience, make other fans recognize the presence of those that you don't really pay attention to otherwise...

What's you favorite Countdown performance? )
spsn: (Default)
Still digging old files...

When you're watching police drama, you won't expect to see things that will make you kyaaaa, especially when there're blood, murders, gruesome crime scenes, etc. Yet, they're exists. I just realized that I don't have that many police drama in my collection (well, those with rabu rabu flavoring in it)...

First off,
vlcsnap-02569vlcsnap-02570
It's just a hug, but who didn't melt with the way Kikuta looked at Himekawa shunin?

Another hug...

Is this a formula for police drama? Whether the girl is the antagonist or protagonist, it's the same! I love Tamaki's expression in here... hyaaaa....

Or, you'd like a kiss? Or to be exact... lip touching XD... OK, I just throw this one in for the fun of it LOL... how I wish it's the guy who take the lead, then it'll be a real kyaaaa... though from this snapshot alone, can't really tell which one is the girl LOL!!! Grandpa Johnny, can we have a summer romcom drama for Aiba-chan? I think he's adult enough to take the role, no?
vlcsnap-02571

OK, back to rabu rabu scene... I also like this scene, my fave from the whole drama (off course, not a police theme):
vlcsnap-02572vlcsnap-02573
I didn't know the girl was chibi Yoshitaka Yuriko. Love this couple the best out of the drama, though they don't have that many screen time. And, I think this is the only rabu rabu scene we get from Matsuda Shota's resume. Anybody can tell me otherwise?

OK, I got distracted XD Been rewatching oldies over the weekend and it spilled over to weekdays too...

The typical formula for Getsu9. The guy is hot, character wise he's no prince charming but still meccha kakkoii, and towards end of drama he becomes MECCHA kakkoii and those lines that he said... swooned! The lady looks fragile enough but somehow still have some strength and has to be kawaii or pretty, but thankfully she's NOT stupid or beyond idiotic (yeah, I'm looking at you K-drama). There're second guy and or girl, they can bite but they're not as super annoying/bitchy or plain evil as those in K-drama.

So, while waiting for Yamapi's new Getsu9, I decided to re-watch his old Getsu9, yeah, the noodle hair, basketball, Kitagawa Keiko pouting, but fantastic B'z song. And I still think the OST have a bigger impact on me because my heart moves with the OST and I go kyaa whenever the OST was the BGM haha...
vlcsnap-02434vlcsnap-02436
How was it? At least it's not just lip touching hahaha... kyaaaaa....

Then I make the lousy comparison to the classic (in MY dictionary), Pride, by his senpai, kissing scene LOL. OK, super bias comparison because I watch this drama x number of times already and still KYAAA over this scene.
vlcsnap-02437vlcsnap-02438
Who can beat Kimutaku kissing scene, over the Ferris wheel PLUS the fireworks? KYAAAAAA.... not to mention the catch phrase before that...
Aki: maybe...
Haru: no, must be...
me: KYAAAAAAAAAAA.....

And from last year's summer Getsu9... seno... KYAAAAA.... btw, in this one Aibu Saki is also the 2nd girl (less bitchy character than in Buzzer Beat, but still 2nd girl), is she stereotyped to be 2nd girl who won't get the guy for Getsu9?
vlcsnap-02442vlcsnap-02443

Bonus cap, not from Getsu9.... but who don't know where this scene come from? who? who?
vlcsnap-02441

OK, I better stop rambling... kyaa-ing too in the middle of the night is not good for my heart LOL...
So what's your fave Getsu9?
spsn: (Default)
OK, I just have to try Matsujun's original recipe LOL...
I think Matsujun just whipped up something from what's available in his fridge and I'd love to see what's inside his fridge...

So the ingredients are:
1 block of tofu (don't use silken tofu, the texture is too soft, use a good pressed tofu, preferably those fresh ones)
1/8 pc of onion, thinly sliced
1 box of natto (if your natto is frozen, heat it up in microwave for about 20 sec, then stir it well)
Few pieces of kimchi (I cut it to bite size)
Sprinkles of bonito flakes (I bought those cheap bonito flakes in packets and didn't even use the whole packet)
2 splashes of soy sauce (I use yuzu ponzu, it gets rid the natto and kimchi smell)
Topping: sesame seeds (I didn't bother to use this because, I don't use sesame seeds in my other dishes)

How to: all raw, stack the ingredients according to the order and... done!

Expectation:

Reality --> my dinner:
Image01000

Taste? Surprisingly good LOL!!! And thanks to Matsujun, natto actually tastes quite good (at least the brand that I bought now). I bought Azuma natto (this brand). I think the soybeans used for this one is bigger than the regular natto.
So, surprisingly the raw onion gives out sweetness when eaten together with natto. The kimchi is just something extra to me, to add texture and a bit of sour taste, that's all. You can omit the kimchi and replace it with other pickles if you don't like kimchi.

From this recipe, I get the impression that Matsujun is really an oshare person in real life, and definitely the food he eats are delicate, careful and... definitely not cheap, and the result shows (he's getting more and more handsome this days, don't you think so?)

So, if I eat this like for 2 weeks, will I also lose 3kg? Nah... I don't think I'll survive with just raw cold tofu LOL!!!

vlcsnap-02426

So, Matsujun has been eating healthy. One of them is the veggie juice for breakfast. And now he's showing off his original recipe?
Well, it's simple, take a block of tofu, add on kimchi, natto, onion and bonito flakes and some sesame on top. And Matsujun just lost 3 kg by eating like this.

Me: I'll try tomorrow, so I have to go buy all those... ugh, must travel a bit tomorrow then LOL...

The pretty and the cute are guesting for Tunnels to promote the Last Hope, and off course Tunnels oji-sans were geared up to... ensure that they have addition to their fab collection of A.RA.SHI 罰ゲーム performance. And the result is... a cure for stress, pure LOL and extra LOL...

Stress medicine... )

V6-OhMyGoodness

The long awaited album from V6 after Ready? in 2010. On the way to their 20th anniversary, V6 seems to get stronger in the recent years and it shows in their songs. With this album, they show how the group has matured over the time without losing its personality. V6 is one of the most stable boyband group that I've encountered, from music wise. For all of their song, regardless of the genre, tune, tempo, you can tell, it's V6's, especially if you've been listening to their songs from the very beginning, Music for the People. You can identify V6's identify in them. And that's why I've adored V6 from their debut and never waver. Other boyband groups may come and go, but not V6. So, what's the strong point of V6?

I'd think V6 has finally re-affirmed their identity after their Sexy Honey Bunny single. As a group with strong vocals capabilities (minus Miyake's duck voice, off course, but I still love him regardless), V6 is capable of pulling of lots of different genre, from ballads, hip hop, R&B, even Broadway musical kind of songs. For the past few years, up to Ready, I'd think V6 kept experimenting on what defines V6. Some style works, some style not so. What fits the current market is also another factor to consider as V6 is still fall under the main stream idol group, and they have to appeal to broad general public to gain market share and compete with the rest of other groups. Granted V6 is not the best selling group despite of all the talents it has, but they survive. Being still existing and charting year by year is the prove of their survival.

With Sexy Honey Bunny, it seems V6 realized what works for them. First, the song must be catchy! It has to have catchy phrase, no matter how weird they are in the first place, but that few words will stuck in people's head. Take example, after Sexy Honey Bunny, all their title songs has catchy title, Bari Bari Buddy, Keep On, Rock Your Soul. They can yell out these catch phrase in the song, which gives a kick to the song itself, and it works! Then, the melody. Tonisen will always describe their song as 80's sound while Kamisen will come up with the more catchy description to describe their song personality. Yes, the core point of V6 songs is bold and full melodies plus retro sound. This not so much applied to their ballads, which also have their own way to identify that these are V6's ballads. Next point is the tune. No matter you spin them, V6 songs will always sound timeless. It'll fit just nicely in all their concerts. You can mix them up with their older songs and you see little gaps. That's why they always have the retro sounds for the dance numbers, happy cheery sounds for the likes of Bari Bari Buddy or Latin beat sounds for the likes of Chou. Then, you get the lyrics. V6 songs never ever have meaningless lyrics, never. Over time, they play a bit with the lyrics, hinting seduction to make it more sexy, but it always has meaning. And that leads to the strong point of their ballads. Besides beautiful tunes, their ballads has beautiful lyrics. And adding on Tonisen's beautiful vocals, and you have ballad songs pleasing to your ears.

And they compiled all these strong points, and package it in the Oh! My! Goodness! album. To make it even powerful, the members take one more step further by involving themselves in the production. The results? You can tell their personalities shine in the songs. Take for example, Otona Guyz. Miyake involved in this song and the result? A fun, colorful song and it'll remain as fave for lots of fans for a long time. Why? Because it has V6's signature all over the place. I personally think this song is the best song in the album :). To make your experience better in indulging yourself with this album, you have to listen to the tracks in order, don't shuffle. There's a reason why they arrange those songs in that order. I can't really describe it but as I listen to the tracks, I kept thinking 'ah, yeah, it makes sense'. The flow of these songs is so smooth, and you'll feel the maturity beneath all those fun songs. This album is really well thought off and neatly packaged that it's worthy for fans to wait that more than 2 years after Ready?. I can't even imagine how awesome the concert will be with this set of new songs, and unfortunately I won't be able to witness it live.

V6 is not just taking what works for them in Oh! My! Goodness! There are also some aspects of experiments in some songs, but with better judgement. They tweak what already works and add more personalities. For example, BING♂. They add tons of fun element in this songs. You can bet it'll fit nicely in John Travolta's 'Saturday Night' movie, so yeah, it's that retro. But, at the same time, it's so V6. You'll hear Tonisen jamming to the tune and Kamisen busy rapping away and they wrap it out with 'bing bing bing, bing bing bing, bing bing bing... GO' and that Go sounds are so playful that it's fun to listen to. Want something even more retro? Try 'D.I.S'. This song is so YMCA era, and by the time you finish listening, you'll be humming 'D.I.S shiyou, D.I.S shiyou.' I'd think no matter which generation you are from, you'll enjoy this song, just like how you'd enjoy the YMCA song. Or how about something more rocking but with retro sound? You can listen to 'Exotic Trip.' As you listen to it, you'll feel as if you're up there on the way to venture to a fun exciting adventure... exotic trip. The song suggest that you're to taste something new, therefore exotic. To change the mood, there's Senkou Hanabi... the only ballad in the album (yeah, this album pack with so much punch that V6 only need to rest with 1 song). Again, even the ballad is so V6. Beautiful vocalwise, the lingering lovely ballad, you'll never get enough of it. Not the best V6's ballad (especially if you compare it with the likes of WALK), but for this album, it flows nicely and works as a bridge. Another so-called ballad is 'May Be.' I don't consider this ballad though, it has more R&B feel and lots of autotune, but it works for this song and it's very kakkoii. I hope they perform this song in SCP someday, a glimpse of it in Music Lover is not enough. And let's not forget the flag song for this album, Supernova aka the sexy song. Only V6 can sing this song and I definitely can't imagine Sexy Zone singing this song (well, maybe 20 years later they are eligible to sing this song), or even Arashi. This song is really made for V6, and they rock every time they perform this song. My favorite part? Ken's! Gotta watch his face expression when he performs this song... the seduction level goes to a different level, haaa...

I always have high expectation when it comes to V6 and I'm very seldom disappointed with their releases and it's been like this for years. Unlike some Western bands who rarely come up with releases or worse, just a one time hit wonder, V6 has consistently coming up with releases and they maintain the quality, not just for the sake of releasing something.

I've been delaying to do this episode because to me this one is the most difficult one. Besides having lots of words that I have to look up on the dictionary, Sho-chan's talking so fast in news caster mode is not helping at all. But since, this is the last episode of the year (Nino's and Ohno's will be next year? WHYYYY???), then better clear this one ecause there's another stack of things that I want to write as well haha...

I love Johnny's plus documentary in general, but especially Arashi's. Why? Simple, because it's fun to watch and most of the time, it's easier to understand and definitely boring is out of the window. And with Arashi, the fun doubles because you get to see them interacting with general public which they're very good at.

So here's the last episode of the year... )

V6 - Rock Your Soul

There are saying that 40s is when human will start to show signs of aging.. rapidly... well, normal humans... but not V6! 20th Century are going 40, passed 40, but they're getting cooler and the Kamisen boys don't look their age at all (well, except Go, but look at Ken... sigh...). And music wise, their music is actually getting cooler and more thought of before releasing. I'd think since Sexy! Honey! Bunny!, yeah, after so many years and singles, V6 finally finds the core music style that they're good at, the cool party music with 80s disco sounds for the title song. And after that, no matter how you spin it, the 80s sound is there, plus minus auto tune and all the mixing, layering and whatever stuff you do in music arrangement. The results? My ears are happy and satisfied and Rock Your Soul will be played during my commuting hours.

Rock Your Soul, Yeah!!! )
spsn: (Default)
I seriously hope they do this type of variety cum documentary more often, not just once a year kinda thing. It's really a good feeling to see them interacting with general public, not just be in the studio with the rest of celebrities, and they are good in doing this as well. The whole documentary becomes much more interesting.

So Arashi no Ashita Kakeru Tabi series this year started with Matsujun's and it's about veggies.
*note that my Japanese is limited so I may made some mistakes in interpreting what they said*
